AFL will not start the state of origin for the fact that players might get injured while playin.

What do you think of the idea

  1. yeah i think it would be great

  2. nahh I dont like the idea, as a fan. Obvioulsy if I was a player Id like to stay where I live. But if they were to strat it up now it would muck it up and teams would/could change completely with their players having to change back. Id rather they leave it how it is and stop trying to change the game around so much.

  3. State Of Origin would be awesome. Great for the fans, although I'm not sure how the players would feel about it.

  4. Didn't there used to be one? Victorians agaisnt everyone else I think it was.

i think it's a pretty good idea because you get to see different groups of players playing together.

  5. there was always a state of origin

Victoria, Sth Australia and Western Australia

i guess it died off its a pity the last one i ever went to was Victoria v Sth Australia at the MCG in front of over 85 000

  6. It use to be good to watch Vic v SA it was a nice rivalry match, but now with big contracts, injuries, and the AFL taking it way, I don't think it will come back. But i would like to see it come back as a rivalry match against the states, and all states not just Vic and SA, or WA and the Allies, but have a NSW and Queensland team too. But thats just me.

  7. WHY NOT.  Sounds a good idea.  Be good if can get NZ involved too.

  8. State of origin is great, but the injuries cannot be tolerated. Mickey Malthouse always withdrew all his players for WA because he didn't want any of his Eagles injured.

  9. The best game I ever saw live was a state of origin match but now there is just too much money involved and the coaches wont let their players play.

I think the next best thing would be for the young up and coming players to play with a few older more experienced players that are delisted or retired.

I am sure they would like to represent their state.

It would still be played with the rivalry that makes it so great this mixture of state teams doesn't interest me at all.
