No, as long as the republicans are beholden to false evangelical Christians...than no there would never bee a true republican on the ballot. I think the republican downfall began when they decided to get in bed with these people and ignore their main political ideology.

Honestly, if Reagan was around today....I am pretty sure the evangelicals would turn on him b/c of the fact that he once was an actor and really don't go around preaching about his beliefs.

Honestly, no I don't. John McCain is not a true conservative. He's a liberal with conservative ideas. John McCain is pro-life yet we need stem cell research. John McCain is for drilling, yet we need to fight global warming. Right now in this election we have a democrat (John McCain) and a Socialist (Obama). We haven't had a true conservative in office or on a ticket in decades. True conservatives would follow in our Founding Fathers' footsteps, imo.

Absolutely not.  The modern republican is a big deficit spender as opposed to a tax increaser.   All they are doing is postponing the tax bill hitting the fan.
