I've always wanted to buy 5 or 6 of those automatic floor cleaners. You know, the little guys that run all around your house cleaning, and when they bump into something, they move around it?

Jim Hall's Chaparral 2J was called a "vacuum cleaner car", but I don't think that you could clean your carpets with it.

Back to your question: no, it would be too difficult to maneuver.
