All of a sudden Palin says that its such a beautiful thing her daughter's pregnant blah blah blah and she's gonna marry the guy because they're in love......BS.

How convenient.

No a better explanation is they're forcing her to get married so republicans don't lose their evangelical base, who wouldn't be too happy about one of their candidates having a pregnant daughter out of wedlock.

Its sad using her like that.

If Palin was really a phoney who wanted to tie things up nicely and hide the truth she could have taken her daughter in to ge an abortion and just told everyone her daughter was chubby.

YES and I think it’s ridiculous that she is saying her 17 year old daughter is going to marry the baby’s father.  Having your teenager not only be thrown into motherhood but into marriage as well.  I think getting married just because you are having a baby is ridiculous and very old fashioned, very out dated and in the long run does all involved more harm than good.  People should get married because they truly want to spend their lives together, not because they feel they have to just because they are having a child.  And really I don’t think any 17 year old has the maturity to make a decision about who they want to marry and spend the rest of their lives with.

Some people think this makes Palin look better because her daughter is not aborting the baby, so it backs up her pro-life stance and makes her look more like a real mother with everyday problems.  However, I think it also shows that children growing up in a conservative abstinence only home lack the s*x education that they need in today’s world.  A child with a mother like Palin is very unlikey to go to her mother for guidance or ask for BC.  This is the wrong approach.  Children should be taught about safe s*x.  The goal should be preventing unplanned pregnancies before they happen.  

17 year olds should not be getting married.  A 17 year old is still a child and marriage is not something for children (neither is motherhood, but that’s another issue).  A baby shouldn’t grow up in a home with parents that are miserable.  A baby shouldn’t have to go through life thinking that the only reason their parents got married was because the mother was pregnant.  If they are really in love, they should give it a few years and let themselves grow as people before tying the knot.

Sarah Palin will once again force her political power in this situation as she tried to with her ex brother-in-law by trying to get him fired. This is truley a woman scorned.

Its funny how the Republicans think John Edwards is sleazy but now their VP tried to claim her daughter's out-of-wedlock kid as her own through lies. And then tried to sympathy for the child having Down syndrome. But the media uncovered the truth as usual. And then they had to cop up to it.

Though these things are their own family business, they do play a role in politics just as John Edwards and Bill Clinton's lies in personal matters did.

Then again, no politicians are clean these days. You already know about Bill Clinton and John Edwards. Now its Gov. Palin with her lies. McCain already left his first wife for a younger, wealthier woman years ago and upset the Ronald Reagan and co. But then again, Obama's mom had him when she was 18 years old. And these was that republican guy trying to get g*y lovers at the airport bathrooms.

So the politicians (both republicans and democrats) these days all seem to have messed personal lives but I think they are only the microcosm of the moral corruption and decadence that exists today.

But to answer your question, yes I think they are forcing the couple into marriage (as the right thing to do because of elections coming up and all that) but that might change after this november or in a few years.

Although I'm an Obama supporter, I fell empathy for the Palin family and the predicament that they are in.  This should be a family matter, not a media highlight.  

With that being said, I do think that they're forcing the kids to get married...which is sad. No parents in their right mind would want their child to become a teen parent...then again, no one wants their teen daughter to have an abortion either. Yes, the new baby would be a blessing...but undoubtedly, it is a blessing that they would want to experience later in life.  

It's sad that the media has taken things to a point to where a mother has to force her child to make a supposedly life-long commitment in an effort to further her own career.

This is the daughter's second baby...the first was her "brother." These people are weird. Here's the story of how Sarah covered up for her daughter's first pregnancy (with the Down's Syndrome baby) and then gets stuck with a second pregnancy almost immediately, (If she is pregnant at all at this time?)

Obviously. Even if she wasnt running for VP she'd force her to marry the father. Even if she was raped by her brother Track she'd force her to have the child, she believes in banning abortion even in the extreme circumstances of rape and incest.

Try this concept moron.  Christians don't judge people that aren't perfect!  Her daughter got pregnant.  Not our place to judge.  I had s*x out of marriage so did others.  As long as you deal with the consequences of your decision it's NOT AN ISSUE!  And by dealing with it I don't mean killing a child!  Obama said he wouldn't want to punish his child with a baby....well guess what....having a baby IS NOT A PUNISHMENT!  It's a consequence!  Here's an idea...take responsibility for yourself AND your actions!
