  1. No way it is great now, no more nasty Smoke in your Lungs and I do not even Smoke. Why should  I suffer someone else's Smoke. If there was a Smoking Room, what about the Staff who would collect the Glasses and Clean it up when the Pub is Closed. They would have to Suffer the Place Reeking of Tobacco smoke. Did you ever go into a Pub the Next Morning when it is  Closed. I did ,to Deliver Stuff like Delph and Fridges and Linoleum, and the Place was Stinking of Stale Booze and Horrible Tobacco Smoke very Unhealthy. Can you imagine the Workers having to Suffer that every Day of their  Working Lives no thanks.

  2. personally I think they should not bring back smoking in pubs because for one thing Its great to have fresh air & your not harming others around you.I mean why should others have to suffer just because your in desperate need smoke.?This is just my opinion-dont get me wrong.,but,to me this is the greatest thing that has happened in years.plus smoking pollutes the air.

  3. No, cuz there is nothing else in a Pub that would be damagin to your health....

I say require them all to drive around the block to smoke!!

You can kill ya liver but not ya lungs, makes no effin sense to me! Bon Jovi won't be sittin in a smokey room anymore...LOL!

  4. Nine out of ten alcoholics say YES

  5. yes , i am fed up with people telling me what to do with my own life. the country is being ruined by do-gooders. i am a no smoker who enjoyes going to the pub for a good natter and a drink (in that order) and meet other people. there is more polution outside than in a pub. with the latest smoke extractors working there is no reason for not smoking inside. well done to the spanish people for kicking this ban in to touch

  6. yep im a non smoker and i hate the way smokers are being victimised its just plain wrong

ps im not alcoholic so those statistics need a bit of a review

  7. YES,I do.definitly..or,at least,a smoking room..in our local pub now,,you can smell the toilets...pee...and smell the carpets,that stink...half the pubs are closing now..its a real shame.even the bingo halls are closing.mary.c.

  8. yes because now they are all smoking on the streets and making the rest of us choke to death whereas it used to be just smokers in pubs

  9. Absolutely not!

I can go out for a night now and not come back stinking of smoke. Imagine how much washing that must save on nationwide basis.

Also it has reduced the number of admissions to hospital for heart attacks since the ban has been in place.

Not only is it making pubs a nicer place to be, it's also having health benifits, so it must mean that people are chosing not to smoke rather than go outside or stay at home altogether.

    result I say

  10. No, no, and no!

Smoking and passive smoking is the most dangerous thing to everyone's health - it is undisputed fact that everyone recognizes (except maybe for smokers).

  11. ...absolutely NO WAY!!! It's the best thing that's ever happened. I'm a non-smoker and now I go out more than I ever did before the smoking ban came in.  To all you smokers, The government are not taking away your right to smoke, just the making the health of others better - who choose to be healthy and not smoke!

  12. No.

  13. No. Ban the filthy habit on the street too.

  14. I think that, at a minimum, it should be possible to have a "smoking room" in pubs, so that smokers aren't forced outside into the rain and wind. Not that non-smokers would care about that, but I remember, all my drinking life (44 yrs.) that there have been pubs that had "No Smoking" rooms or areas, and a little reciprocity seems reasonable.

My own local is used by 97% (yes, we have done the maths) smokers, and not one of the smokers (and they have all been asked) objects to smoking in their prescence.

Pubs are closing at the rate of 4 a day. While I acknowledge that many are closing for other reasons, I am absolutely sure that the introduction of the smoking ban is a large contributing factor. It is quite UNTRUE that those smokers who have chosen not to frequent pubs any more have been, or will ever be, replaced by non-smokers who would suddenly find smoke free premises a pleasure to visit.

So, yes, reintroduce the possibility of smoking indoors in pubs as soon as possible.

  15. yes a smoking room definatly, we have a family pub which serves kids meals and has a play area and it is nice to take my children into a smoke free pub for a few hours  but me and my husband do smoke and when we go out as just the two of us we hate not being able to smoke with our drink.

  16. yh beause some pubs are loosing buisness now

  17. PLEASE READ:

I think that this is such a controversial subject and i dont think that everyone is going to agree on either 'yes' or 'no'. I am a non smoker and i myself think that its such a great thing and i dont ever want it to go back to how it use to be- not even a smoking room. Smoking can cause so many deadly illnesses and i think that it so selfish and unfair that smokers think that they have got a right to let others breathe in their second hand smoke- its just ignorant. After all, second hand smoke is more harmful to someone that the person that is actually smoking. I think that its great to go out to a pub/club and not be gassed out by people smoking not to mention going home smelling of smoke. So yeah they do deserve to stand out side. Omg. I could go on for ever about this subject as i find people that smoke one of thee most selfish people- after all there is people out there that are dying from illness that are no fault of their own- and smokers are practically causing their own death- and some even get treated first on the nhs! arrrg! Glad i got that off of my chest lol

    Hope This Helps x

  18. no its the only decent thing this government has done in the last 10 years :)

  19. i don't believe that smoking in pubs should have been banned as the majority of people in pubs do smoke, and it has never caused a problem before. saying this though, i do think that it was a good idea to ban smoking in other public places as it is unfair on those who don't smoke  x

  20. no, it's great going into a pub and not coming out smelling like an ashtray

  21. NO WAY!!! i really enjoy being able to take my children into pubs in the day time for meals and not having to worry about the smoke!!!

I've also recently quit smoking and it makes it soo much easier on a night out to resist when no ones smoking around you!!!

I'd lay money on the fact that statistically the number of smokers have dropped significiantly since the bann!!!!

i vote an ingenious way to stop britian smoking!!

  22. h**l no - it's great now to have fresh air.

  23. it might have been better to have some smoking pubs...and some non smoking - then everyone would have the choice & the pub trade would not be suffering the way it is now....

you see - the non smokers are happy about the ban...but are not supporting their local pubs now that the smokers have left in droves!

  24. I dont think that the government should be telling business owners what to do with their businesses. I am a former smoker but side with the smokers on this issue.

  25. Yes !... and I am a non smoker !!!

  26. No not at all .  become a non smoker is the best thing.

  27. its ruined the pub trade ,9 outr 10 people who r regulars smoke , i gave up myself 3 years ago,but i see it as a infringment of ur rights to stop it ,pubs will be a thing of the past soon

  28. No not at all, think its the best thing that has been done in a long while.

  29. NO NO NO

And you shouldn't smoke within 25 ft. of the entrance and learn not to throw your butts on the ground.
