  1. They should be out already.  In fact, we never should have started this war in the first place.

  2. I think that a agreement will be signed.  However I think that if the US govt and military deem that circumstances override that agreement then we will be right back at square one.  This to me is nothing more then a piece of paper to appease the people back home.

  3. Never happen.  There is too much money to be made.  And anytime there is vast amounts of money to be made you have crooked politicians (all) who will stand in the way of whats right in order to make some money.

  4. Yeah but will be right back there in the next decade, the Taliban are going to take out Iraq's goverment and make the situation worse. Iraq has well trained warriors they just would run under a trial under fire.

  5. i think it all depends on whoever wins the presidency.  McCain wants to stay there and finish the job and there is no way to give an exact date of withdrawal.  Obama wants to start pulling a brigade out per month as soon as he gets into office.

  6. I'm not sure. There is an odd story out of Al Anbar Province, in the web edition of the Stars & Stripes newspapers,  which might cause a slight delay in executing such a plan. The planned turnover of that province to Iraqi command in July was delayed by "weather concerns". That was the official story. Now it faces a further delay because the people of Al Anbar appreciate having the Marines there to keep Al Queda out of their lives. The people see the Marines as their saviors. However, I do think an agreement on troop withdrawals between Baghdad and Washington will happen long before the Al Anbar story ever gets mentioned in the U.S. mainstream media.

  7. I hope so. Iran and the Taliban should be very afraid.

  8. nope, I think they will be out sooner to be honest, that agreement is so that when the UN mandate is up, US troops will still be able to be in Iraq. Iraq not only wants a time table for when troops will be withdrawn, but also that all Coalition forces be under Iraqi laws, no immunities, and the US won't go for letting another country lay its laws down on the troops, so I think its gonna fall through unless Iraq withdraws that part of the agreement.

  9. I don't know how I feel about this. It is kind of artifical. We are leaving even if things aren't doing well for Iraq? I know there are conditions to pulling out by 2010. I guess it is a good step. Worry about Afghanistan now!

  10. Not if McCain wins...

  11. yes it will happen don't matter who wins the white house if Iraq wants us out it will happen and as bad as its been going for bush at least he can say he won the war in Iraq
