  1. In all of my years I've never seen a jacket that will keep you absolutely 100% dry.

All waterproof-breathable garments have their limits. An all day deluge will eventually cause you to become wet for various reasons.

If the outside temperature and humidity are not ideal for the fabric to work properly, water vapor given off from your body will condense inside the garment before it has time to pass through the membrane. This is particularly true on garments that have a lining or insulation...such as ski jackets and snowboard jackets.

Additionally, jackets designed to be used in cold weather are expected to shed water caused by melting snow and slush. The DWR coating on the garment actually does more to keep you dry than does the waterproof-breathable membrane.

  2. nothing but a rain jacket is water proof in a downpour. very water resistant yes, proof propably not

  3. The link just brought me to the home.

Most likely the jacket being burton it'll be waterproof. It;s actually hard to find a jacket thats not waterproof now days. But I have a burton jacket thats waterproof and was in a wet snowy/rain (sleet) for only about 30-45 min and got soaked. So my guess is hours on end of raining and wet snow most jackets will not hold up.

    Cheers.

  4. Yeah it will be ok all snowboard and ski jackets will be waterproof.
