Do you think this Section of Yahoo Answers is censored in parts of the world?

Google and Yahoo search engines have agreed to censor sites about Tibet in China. Computers in China that use those search engines cannot pull up sites that are not authorized by the Chinese government.

That makes me thing that Yahoo Answers would also censor "Answers" in parts of the world. If you think they censor this section, where do you think it is censored?

  1. I would bet that this is censored in Afghanistan and other fundamentalists states.  If a country has enough money, they can get anything these days.  There is no such thing as journalistic integrity or freedom of speech, even on the Internet.

BTW, thanks for the info about Tibet.  Interesting!

  2. It hasn't been censored in Saudi Arabia.

  3. Yahoo is terrible about censoring. As a public traded company it should be illegal for them to go above the bill of rights. I can see if they want to be a private company and rely on private funds, but being a public company should force them to be a citizen of this country. However, if a government of another country allows for censorship of thought and press then go ahead Yahoo and censor.

  4. Yahoo made an agreement with China some years ago to allow Chinese government censors access to user records.

I have no idea if content is censored, but every word is being read by someone who has an interest in monitoring people's thoughts and opinions.

People get on here and spout about how their 'free speech' is being infringed on if someone gives them a few thumbs down or their question is deleted for being obnoxious.

Wonder how they'd feel to live somewhere where criticising the government was not a pastime but a revolutionary act with real, and often horrible, consequences.

    Best wishes :-)

  5. The feminists who run YA, constantly censor male answers that shed light onto the feminst hoax that has infested America for the last 60 years.

Like all things that live under a rock, it detests being exposed to the light of day.
