Question:

Do you think this could be the reason some people see ghosts & others don't?

Maybe ghosts give out some kind of "rays" or "electrical charge" onto certain people that allows only those people to be able to see them. OR..maybe only the people the ghosts are looking at can see them.(Just trying to find an explanation for why some can and some can't.)

  1. Some people see ghosts and spirits because they are sensitive  to spirit. If a ghost is persistent he will let you know he is around in other ways, not just showing himself to you. If you are afraid, he uses that fear for his energy. The more afraid you are, the more power you give the ghost/spirit. Ghosts need alot of this power/energy to manifest. You are the lucky person he is showing his energy to.

  2. The way people fear craziness...

  3. Humans do not use 100% of their brains. Yes, I think that people who can see spirits are able (perhaps genetically inclined people) to pick up on their 'energy'. I have felt spirits and vaguely seen a few. I think that if you can learn to accept that spirits are around, then it will be easier to 'feel' them and be easier for you to not be afraid of them. I have only noticed spirits that I personally knew, or that were curious about me (such as moving into their house). Either way, I just got over it, it's no big deal, kinda cute actually.

  4. I think that some people are just more sensitive to ghosts than others are. Anything paranormal can be like that. I saw a ghost when I was a kid, but haven't since (though I have heard some pretty bizarre things). Like I said, it might just be the level of sensitivity, like how kids can sometimes see ghosts when adults can't. They're more sensitive to it.

  5. Naw, it's just that some people are sane, and some people are not sane.

Or, to put it in other words, some people are rational, and some are not rational.

  6. They seem to have shift or vibration in their consciousness. How about types of light in the electromagnetic spectrum as an example.

Light is produced by vibrations of matter propagated under the form of waves in the ether. An eye with a retina sensitive enough would see in the dark all objects as if surrounded by a luminous halo, and darkness would be unknown to it.

We can see light beyond our usual range of spectrum simply by changing the vibration of our consciousness, by believing. People and animals who have the ability to see beyond the range of visible light can see infrared as dark red and ultraviolet as dark purple, dark blue or black.

When you use your Etheric Vision, you are able to see invisible light such as ultraviolet, x rays and gamma rays. When we are in the etheric state/spiritual of being or having heightened sense of etheric vision operating, we will experience a full spectrum color shift. Which means that our perceptive range of visible colors will shift one octave higher.

And Ghost and other things will become visible.

All the normal visible colors we see will shift to dark red or even black, while the higher frequencies of the electromagnetic spectrum shifts into standard colors. We will be able to see ultraviolet, x-rays and gamma rays in the color range from red to indigo. Ultraviolet will appear red and gamma rays will appear indigo. Every other frequency in between will appear as the rest of the colors.

  7. Wow Deenie, you're using conjecture to explain conjecture!  If you're going to do that, you can really propose anything your imagination comes up with.

How about the simple explanation -- some people are more predisposed to "seeing" ghosts than others due to their pre-existing belief in the paranormal and the power of suggestion it produces (and not anything to do with sanity or sobriety or lack of it as others have suggested).

  8. This is very true to some degree. Seemingly I usually wake up to see them near me, But it could be that I am sensitive, because sometimes I can feel them before I see them. Even when awake, unless they hint, so you know head of time. There were many times when I am asleep to where my third eye would open, and I can see them in the room, but I can also feel their thoughts. I woke up to see one at the foot of my bed, and felt it's thoughts, one said, "he can see me" as if it were surprised that I could.

I think it's to do with that gland we have that don't seem to work for most people, that allows the third eye to work.

I am so sensitive at times when they are there, and if I don't see them, I can feel their presence so strong that it's basically stronger that actually seeing. I know where they are, and feel I know who they are if I know them. I think it's more like feeling their energy.....and perhaps they feel your energy or thoughts, knowing if a person is open or sensitive. I don't know, I do know that I have confuse one spirit once, I know this because like I said I feel their thoughts.

  9. You may be on to something there.  I have always wondered why everyone doesn't see the things that others see.  I always figured it was a difference in how people see, like more sensitivity to colors or IR and UV light.  But that is reflectivity versus projection of a light or energy.  I don't think I have given the projection idea any thought before, now I will.  Once again you've given me something new to think about.

  10. I won't say it's impossible, but I do believe a pre-existing belief in ghosts combined with the proper setting, mood or state of mind (i.e. just woke up) seems to contribute as well.

  11. I saw a ghost and her child when I was about 16 years old.  Being a bit of a strange person as I was studying to do medicine at Uni but was avidly interested in the paranormal, metaphysics and esoteric fields... I was reluctantly uneasy, trying to explain 'scientifically' why I was seeing what I was seeing, but the other part of me was saying, "Here's your proof!  You're seeing ghosts!"

Long story short, I tried to stay awake to convince myself it was not a dream, but fell asleep anyway, but remembered it distinctly in the morning.  Anyway, I haven't seen a ghost since, but because of my subsequent work, I have come into contact with many 'spirits', energies that manifest in areas of a room and come across as dense coldness, I have come across poltergeists (and they have scared the c**p out of me because I wasn't looking for contact), etc, etc.

And the first thing I do, is look for a logical explanation coz I don't want to come across as some kind of kook.

Simply put, I believe we each as human beings 'emit' certain energy frequencies and if part of that energy includes a frequency of belief in the paranormal, let's just say it can match up with a ghost's energy and make us each aware of each other as like attracts like energy.  Hope I haven't made a mess of trying to explain this, but that's the jist of it anyway.

BTW, I can't see them, I sense them, so that visual explanation from some others doesn't explain my perceptions.

  12. Ya I belive that

  13. I do not know why some people see ghost and spirits and some do not.  As one who can see, I wish I had that answer.  If it was something that could be taught, I would try to teach it, so many who do not see (and would like to)could.

I prefer to think of it as a gift.  Many people have gifts that work in different ways when it comes to the paranormal.  You can't make it go away.  It is just as natural to us as breathing.   I wish there was an explaination, but somethings we as people are not meant to know.  I do know that if I had another gift, like singing for example, people would not think twice about it.  I might have a career singing if I were good enough.  But this gift is different.  To some, it is to be made light of, others wonder about my sanity.  Believe me, this is not something I would have chosen for myself.

That said, I don't think I'll keep my gift to myself.  But my singing...I'll reserve it for the shower.

  14. first of all you're right about converting skeptics, i'm a skeptic and i don't mind admitting that if i saw a ghost and couldn't come up with any scientific explanation for it being anything else i'd become a believer at the drop of a hat.

fortunately that's never gonna happen because i'm sane.

people that can't see ghosts are just the same as people who can, it's just that they know that what they've seen aren't ghosts because ghosts don't exist.

there's no afterlife, look up the word "dead" in the dictionary and there'll be no mention of the last stop on the spooksville express (i've not actually looked but i'm willing to bet i'm right :)

  15. No.

There is no such thing as a ghost.

There is no such thing as life after death.

This is a difficult truth to come to terms with, many people are unable to accept that when they die, their conciousness will cease. In order to avoid this truth people have created many life after death myths. Many religions exact obediance from followers by promising passage to a better place for the good and eternal damnation for the bad.

These myths all have one thing in common, they cannot be proved.

Ghosts are simply another such myth.

Why do some people still see ghosts. Well it's down to a combination of their need to believe in life after death, their susceptability to suggestion and the brains ability to see patterns where none exist.

  16. The whole problem comes down to a question of reproducible, verifiable results.  If it were a question of being able to sense certain light frequencies, it would be a simple matter to use a film camera with film sensitive to given wavelengths.  If ghosts were visible in ultraviolet, you could always photograph them in ultraviolet.  Like wise, if they communicated in HF radio signals, that would be easy to verify and repeat, but strangely, neither of these cases seem to be provable.

As someone above noted, the most likely explanation is that some people are more inclined to BELIEVE in ghosts.  They are more likely to associate that creek in the house with spirits, or that flash of light with a ghost.

Some people are more skeptical of such things and are not as likely to associate any unknown sound or event with supernatural phenomena.

As far as I know, there has NEVER been a verifiable sighting or true haunting.  If there really were a ghost, he/she/it would not likely be "bashful" around skeptics.  And how would a "ghost" know the state of mind of a living person anyway?  They did not posses that ability in life, why would the acquire it in death. (if you believe.)

It is interesting that whenever there is a "real" ghost, it becomes suddenly less active or bashful when skeptics are around.  That alone says a lot!

    Hope this helps

  17. Short answer. Imagination.

Long answer. People will take something they see, especially if it lacks details, and "plug in" information to make it fit into something more familiar. In the case of ghosts, people will take something with a vague outline of a human and interpret it as a "ghost", a culturally familiar term. It's not that people who see ghosts are crazy, or trying to fool people. It's simply that they take the same information someone else does and their brain "explains" it in the famiiar idea of a ghost. Understanding how the human brain and eyes actually "see" things is important in trying to study anything that involves eyewintess testimon.

  18. There is no such thing as a ghost...people who think they see them are:

    A) crazy

    B) imaginative

    C) playing a joke

    D) completely connected to the "paranormal" world....in other words insane

  19. Some people deny what they see to save them from trauma. Look at how aggresively cheyney has to reinforce his denial. Others can deal with the reality that we are not the only thing going on here.

  20. I believe that there are people that are sensitive to a higher degree than others.

  21. Or maybe appearing to someone is just difficult to do so it's not a common occurrence and most don't ever see it happen.

  22. Images  of ghosts and spirits are very rare to see. When they are visible there images are very transparent and hard to see.You need to be at the right location at the right time in the right level of light to see them. Then you have to be looking in the right direction as there images don"t last long at all. Some can only be seen in the dark. Some images only last seconds. Some are invisible to the naked eye but appear quite well on films and photos.Sometimes i beleive tempreture may effect there images.

  23. It is poaaible. I also thinkg ghosts can show themselves to some people while remaining unseen to others.

  24. Some people are more sensitive.  Just like some people are tone deaf or color blind. Some people see ghosts and auras.
