What do you think, he has won lots of things for a minute now, do you think he will reach #1 soon or do you think that Federer is going to reclaim his undisputed throne. I know that in the books, Federer is at #1, but in my opinion, Nadal should be at #1 right now, I just see him more consistent every single year that passes by and lately I've seen that Federer is on a decline. I know that some people on here know more than I do at Tennis, but I've kind of been into Tennis for maybe about 3 or 4 years now, and the 2 players I've payed most attention to is Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal so I'm not gonna say I'm the most intelligent in this sport, I'm usually in the Football(soccer) section.

What do you think, do you think he can reach #1 soon?

  1. Federer will somehow manage to keep his #1 ranking by the end of the year, Nadal will slip up at least once in the Hard Court season.

I can actually see Federer finishing with under 100 points ahead, but still ahead.

Next season is hard to tell, if Federer comes back to win the Aussie Open and Wimbledon, he'll stay #1 till 2010.

That said I think in 2010 Nadal might get the #1 ranking, but who knows how DJokovic does.

  2. Despite his triumph at Wimbledon, if Nadal were to become number one this year, he would have to win US Open, a  Masters Series Event, and season ending championships. All the while Federer would have to lose earlier in rounds played for Rafa to gain points. With Nadal's improived game, especially with serve, remains to be seen how he fairs on hard courts this summer. However, more so then ever before, these 2 have shown why by far, they are the top 2 players in the world.

  3. I do think it is possible. However, he's not very good on hardcourts. He does not have the best results at the U.S. Open and he is usually burnt out by this time of year. That's why his uncle does not want him to play on hardcourts- to avoid injuries. It is because he pounds on the courts at the French and Wimbledon and has knee problems.

  4. if nadal can keep on winning in the rest of this season, maybe this is nadal's year.

in my opinion, hard court season will be difficult for nadal. but he had nearly perfect claycourt and grasscourt season this year (only 1 lost to juan carlos ferrero), he must have gained so much confidence.

i think it is hard for him to reach #1 by the end of this year. but it still possible and i hope so

hope nadal and federer can meet again in 2008 US open final and giving a magnificent match to watch like 2008 wimbledon final :)

  5. i am sure he would no. 1 at year end

  6. It's certainly in reach. Hard court season in here though. So Federer should use his superb hard court skills to retain his #1 spot. Nadal is in the club too, but Federer is still Captain.

  7. i still think federer will come back he just lost one tournament even tho that was like his strongest catogorie i do think nadal will be #1 but not till federer retires
