Do you think this is a good poem?

After the last rose petal falls to the ground

It withers and dies

After the butterflies accomplish their mutation

And survive a phase of the moon

They die

After the vulnerable turtle

Moments after it's descent

Journeys through the sand

Toward the sea

It is gorged within the eagle's talons

And dies

After the Billabong takes it's final breath

And the sun's rays dissipates

It's remaining moisture

It's existence is no more

It dies

After my fight for air

After my struggle to stay on the water's surface

And after i plead and pray for my life

I let go

Nature's fury swallows me

I descend to the depths

But my passion for you will live on forever

  1. It's very good,,

It may be depressing but who ever said all poems where happy and stuff

  2. It sure sounds sad, all about the struggle for survival, and  death. Probably mention could be made of the baby turtle's other siblings fortune and fate after they leave the broken shells and emerge from the sand.  The words 'its descent', 'Billabong', 'breath', and 'you'  could be clarified further. If the Billabong is a river and has dried up, how is it possible for the turtle to still struggle to stay at the water's surface? Clarity, good imagery  and logic are essential to fully appreciate the poem.

Just a couple of changes for greater impact. Generally, a good  poem. :-))

  3. I'll be honest, Too depressing, I don't like it.  If I want depressing I will read the news.  Poetry is to question, to express, to explain to tell a story and you have done that but it's not the kind I like.

  4. Wrong section, next one down on the list.
