Do you think this is normal for my cousin?

he is 13 and both his parents died in a car crash the day after he and his girlfriend broke up after being together for about a year, now he is drinkin about half a bottle of beer every other day..is it normal for him to do that in his position?

He is trying to drown his broken heart. But, he will end up an alcoholic. He needs talking to about his parents and gf. It does help to talk it out. You can help him by keep talking with him, if he will let you.

of course that's not normal...save the drinking for college years!  he needs help...its called an INTERVENTION...who are his guardians now...don't they know?..if not someone (perhaps you) need to tell them...or you need to talk to a guidance counselor or an adult you can trust....he is drinking because when you are drunk you feel out of space and that means he doesn't have to be here in reality feeling all of his pain and losing his loved ones......and that means in the future he will be an alcoholic that will be afraid to love anyone because he may think they'll die or leave him...do you see how this is all tied to together?!..so please help his pain.....get him help....and how is giving him the booze?..and are the people he is with now good?....if not then social services for children needs to know but if this is all too much for you talk to a teacher or the guidance counselor once your back in school...good luck

well he is probably on the road to a drinking problem if he is only 13 I mean half a bottle of beer every other day is really nothing but at that young age it should be a warning signal
