  1. Even if it were over the top (which I don't think it is by the way) it's your decision if you want her to wear it then go right ahead. I think it's adorable!!! I'd be making sure to take plenty of pics early on though as I can't imagine it would stay clean for long

  2. I don't think it is over the top she will look absolutely gorgeous!!

  3. I love it!! You already knew that though. Haven't you bought it yet??

See the little girl on the E-bay page, with the flowers - That's what I think you should put in her hair. With white and pink flowers and bows.

I kept my kids in their suits all day, I didn't pay money for their suits to go to waste.

    Cake washes out.

  4. It is absolutely gorgeous and I'm sure your little girl is going to be adorable in it.  The dress doesn't look uncomfortable or difficult to walk in at all, though if she is still crawling you might have some difficulties.  It isn't over the top at all!

Just as a side note, we dressed our son in a little white tuxedo with light blue accents for his blessing when he was 2 months old.  Baptisms in our church aren't done until 8 years old, but we dolled him up for his blessing.  Naming days, even with out the religious backing, are such a special day that they're worth getting dressed up for!

  5. I think it's lovely. When my daughter turned 1, she was all decked out in a purple dress and white tights.

I, however, didn't change her when her cake was brought out. Just bought a really cute bib to match her dress. I figured she would probably never wear the dress again (which she didn't) so I was going to make sure she wore it as much as possible... :)

  6. yea , but its cute. its really dressy its for a christening , i dont think she'll be comfortable for long !

  7. Nah, it's adorable!!  But you may want to take it off come cake-eating time!!!  LOL!

We stripped Sophie to her diaper when it was time for her to eat her mini cake.

    Happy early Birthday!

  8. I think it's beautiful!  Not over the top at all and not too expensive :)  I think she will look so cute in that and it does look easy enough to move around in assuming she'll be walking by that time.

We bought a custom made dress (on eBay) for our daughter with a monogram of a cupcake with 1 candle and a butterfly and her name underneath.  It was a big hit at her party, but come cake time we stripped her down to her diaper and a bib and let her dig in!

Happy early Birthday to your LO :)

  9. I think its very cute!  Are you planning on doing the traditional cake thing though where they go at a peice of birthday cake?  If so save this for pictures and such then have a good outfit that she can get dirty in!

  10. I agree with the first answerer. have that outfit for the pics and stuff but then change her into an outfit she can run around and play in. Very beautiful dress though, I'd buy it.

  11. Over the top? Hardly! It's simple, actually, and quite precious. Take lots of pictures! Have fun and congrats on your baby's first.

  12. No not really, I dont like that hat though.  The dress is cute, and not to fluffy and big.  I think it will be fine as long as the party is that special.  If everyone is going to be playing outside, running around and having fun, you might want a backup play outfit, all though a one year old could not play all that much.  Anyways its very cute and not over the top.

  13. it cute but i hope she doent get cake all over it

  14. Oh no I love it!!  It makes me wish I'd bought a special outfit for my babies b-day!

  15. It's adorable. It's your daughter's birthday and you can dress her however you want. We had a HUGE party for my son's first birthday. It is all up to you.

  16. i think it's adorable. however if you plant to have cake and treats i would just suggest a "play" outfit.

  17. i think its cute.. and it would be a good idea to take it off for the cake so like that she can maybe wear it again later if it fits

  18. That is stunning!!! absolutley gorgeous - a perfect little outfit for such a special day.

  19. yeh that is gorgeous! i think its perfect we are also havinga naming day for our bubs (whoi is a boy) so unfortunately cant wear anything as pretty haha good luck and congrats

  20. Not at all! It is your child and I think this is adorable! traditionally a Christening dress is white but I think the pink is a nice touch especially because its her bday aswell! Mine was a big lace dress that touched the floor while I was held in my perants arms and it looked wonderful! Its a special day and she should wear something just as special!!

BUT.... I suggest you get another outfit with easier to clean material for the after party with all the sticky stuff that no doubt will get spilt!

Have a great day and congrats! =)))

  21. I think it is a very sweet looking dress.  The price is good too!  Of course, you either have to decide not to care if the dress gets really dirty (first birthday cake and all!!!) or else just have her in a onesie under the dress so that the dress can easily be saved when it comes time to having a bit of fun and some mess!

  22. I think it's cute :D

  23. i think its great.  happy birthday to your little one hand have fun.

  24. No that will be fine that is a really cute dress minus the hat of course..
