Do you think this is worth money???

I moved into a new house 4 years ago and we were looking in the storage room and we found a bottle of Volcanic Ash from Mount St. Helens from 1988, when it erupted, do you think it's worth money???

Would probably make some money on ebay, especially if people got to talking about it (the listing gets popular because its so strange).

Ebay has two entries, but both from 1980. One listed at 5 dollars, another at ten.

Don't know if the year makes a difference or not.

Anyway, it's one of those novelty kind of things so you might as well just keep it because it really is kind of cool.

If you go anywhere close to Mount Saint Helens today you can collect tons of its ash, so the ash itself has no value, too easy to get.

Now there is a problem of authentication. It might or might not have been collected then.

But if this can be sold there should be a few hundred thousand other bottles prepared for sale.
