it needs a lot of work. consider taking some web design and photoshop classes. but good effort.

You can always change it later. It's hard to say if it works well for the purpose, since the page isn't fully developed yet.

I think it's probably a matter of taste, so since it's your page, it's your call. Never say "does this look bad?" -- it's like asking if you look fat. It puts ideas in people's heads.

Why don't you try a few different versions and post them here, and get people to vote for their favourite?
