i'm 38 weeks and 2 days preggo. Last week on wed. I went to the doctor and she said my cervix was soft and I had dilated 1 cm, the wed. before that I hadn't dilated at all an my cervix was still hard so in one week I progressed to 1 cm an soft cervix well since then i've had ALOT of braxton hicks and a few real contractions, I've been walking a mile or 2 a day and i've tried s*x a few times. I go back to the doctor friday for another cervical exam do you think that I have probably progressed more? Also the baby has been pushing down hard lately, i've lost bits of my mucous plug, and it seems like shes dropped even more! Please tell me you think i've progressed! please? i'm not asking if labor is soon just if i've progressed.

  1. I would say that you have.

  2. You sure have!  Sometimes it can take a couple weeks to get all the way there but you sound really close!  If you want to get yourself going walk up stairs and drink comomile tea!

  3. yea

  4. The only way you could tell if you've progressed is to check yourself.  Just wash your hands first.

The mucus plug rebuilds itself, so even if you lose parts of it now, it's regenerating (I know, I was bummed about that when I found out about it from my Dr.).

Really "progression" doesn't matter too much.  A woman can go from 1cm dilated to in full labor in just as little time as a woman who has been 5cm dilated for a week.

It really depends on when your body and baby are ready and in sync.

    Good luck!

  5. Yeah. More s*x! It helps dialate you and even bust your water!

~Never been preggo but a bunch of my friends are having babies all in this year.

  6. well apparently sign of progression is that the cervix has softened or effaced, what ever you want to say, and not only that but you are already at a one and the baby has dropped, never mind the actual signs of labor, but just those little things alone is already a sign of labor and progression, but i would also say that some women go two weeks dilated at a two, it just depends, it sounds like your lil girl will be here soon :) i wish you luck :) they are all worth it in the end.

also just from what it sounds like you probably wont make your due date.... if your 38 weeks, but then again, you might. either way you have definitely progressed.

  7. i think its quite obvious you have progressed..

i was 35 weeks and had my bloody show, dialated to a 2, the baby has dropped tremendously (i look like im only 5 months or so now!)  and began having ridiculous back pain and more intense but still irregular contractions.. all in a matter of days. that was last tuesday and wednesday.. it has been a week, and im still waiting for labor to come on..

you could be stuck like this for hours, or weeks..

    but you certainly have progressed!!

    good luck!

once you lose your plug though dont have s*x.. the s***n can cause infection once it is gone.. though it's good to do now because it will soften the cervix and help dilation.

  8. I would say yes, but every womans body is different, so its hard to say for sure. Your doc will be able to tell you more by checking your cervix. Labor dust!
