The words can’t escape my lips

I can’t believe the truth

My conscience soars and dips

You say the words I hoped weren’t true

I sit and stare while shock takes over

I cannot look at you

Images run through my head

Tears fall uncontrollably

I tell myself that she is not dead

Frozen in this place

Moving seems too hard

I search and search for her but I only see empty space

Clutching my knees to my face, I cry

She promised me she wouldn’t leave me,

She promised not to die

Now I am on own

I never knew that losing her

Could make me feel so alone

  1. Very Good poem....extremely sad, but good...

  2. Yea i really like it, its very good because yo have made it differnt because your using three lined stanzas. i also liek it because you have used ryming and the poem goes into deep depth and emotion..

  3. It's ok but you never explained who the person was that you were referring to.

  4. I really like it, it's sad though :(

  5. I could see what you were going for in this poem.

The reality of death sets in, as a riper that cuts down the harvest the departed has left. You look for the harvest, the happiness, but there is none, for death has left the longing, alone. Countless moments of wanting repair, of wanting justice, come out as tears. All happiness of that person, all dreams of future moments, congest in despair.

I get it. Even though this poem has basic word rhyming, I know this must be that way, because death, died, dead, and die, have very little words that clash in poetic illumination.

    Good poem.

  6. It's a moving poem.  The pain

of a loved one is always sad.

Still, we find the courage to

go on.  She would of wanted

    you to.

    The poem is good.
