Do you think this should be acceptable?

I was at MAC today

and all these ladies running around, with belts on and brushes in them and costumers asking for a makeup look

and she would finish with one woman and go to the next, still with the same brush... and the lipgloss... people actually use those ON their lips, which anyone could have an STD that used that lipgloss or any disease like that, I don't think that should even be allowed for goodness sake

I just think they should have a proper and a more clean way of trying them on

don't you think?

  1. eeewe who would of thought they r so unsanitized.

  2. Hi,

That's gross... I've worked at the MAC counter and that person you should talk to the manager of the counter and tell them your concern. MAC reps are taught not to do that... and to have proper techniques in cleaning their brushes and products... that's really gross and not professional. Hopefully you can do that and report them for not doing that...

Personally as a freelance makeup artist... that's a BIG NO NO... so please report them to their manager.

  3. Ew, they should wipe them off(thoroughly) before using it again

  4. I agree with you

    mac is blah

  5. Good for you for noticing that! The brushes should definately be cleaned between clients and lip gloss & mascara should NEVER be shared. Sending a letter to MAC might open their eyes to what they are doing, like spreading pink eye, or herpes simplex 1.

  6. It was because MAC was INSANELY busy today. Or at least the one I went to today since they were introducing their new cherry line or whatever. However, they usually don't do that and shouldn't. They usually wash the brushes with a type of disinfectant spray made specifically for the makeup brushes. If I don't see them do it, then I ask them to do it in front of me, just to be sure.

  7. Well you can't get an STD from lipgloss. But you could get mono or meningitis.

Usually MA's (makeup artists) use disposable lip brushes and mascara wands and toss them after every dip.

And they usually clean the brushes before using them on another client.

But if you see that in a store, turn around and run back out. Because that is DEFINATELY not sanitary.

Like you said, you have no idea if that other person has a disease of some sort or not

  8. That is SO NOT acceptable! ewh!

People get herpes on thier mouths and you can get oral gonorrhea, HPV in ur throat, and MONO.

    ewh tha tis reallllllly nasty

u should really talk to them n inform them about those risks n how unappealing it was

  9. STD means SEXUALLY transmitted disease. They're not called LGTDs for a reason: there is no such thing as lip gloss transmitted diseases.  Although you can catch other things.  haha
