okay so recently my moms husband got murdered.. and all this stuff has been happening to my mom.. like she said her light went off one day, and then later it was fine.. then, after that, yesterday my mom got a tarot card reading.. the lady said there was a strong male figure around her.. i mean, that was basically confirming her beliefs.. but then when she got home, she had a missed call.. from her own phone, a house phone, and then the message on the caller id, said to "call back" or "call me." my mom thinks this was him trying to contact her.. she tried to call her own phone, and it just went to the busy tone.. so its really impossible... then while i was talking on the phone, she heard two knocks on the window, and right when she said that i got two knocks on my wall, and everybody in my home was sleeping.. what do you think about this? can sprits contact the living through phones? this is just creeping me out lately..

  1. sounds like it.  I have heard of the recently departed trying to contact those they left behind to say that they are alright and that they loved them.

Next time it happens just say that you are glad they are here, that they are alright and that you miss them.

  2. it is possible on account of a spirit person being energy. it sounds like it is to me.

  3. Your mother is going through a bad time. She already has a predisposition for the supernatural.Probably handed down to her from her mother.

I hope you can help her through this without falling into the same trap she did.

The dead cannot contact the living and tarot cards do not tell the future.Break the cycle of silliness Take an open minded look at things. You'll see nothing really strange is happening

  4. Sorry for your loss.

It must be a traumatic time for your family and especially your Mom since it was a tragic death and obviously she wants to think that he is still around but to be realistic all those things can be explained and I bet you wouldn't even have noticed them unless you were looking for some kind of sign.

I don't think dead people muck about with lights, make phone calls or knock on walls and I hope your Mom will soon be able to have closure by accepting that although she will always have the memories of their happy times together to treasure her loved one is gone forever.

  5. I'm sorry for your loss but i think there has been a build up of both stress & depression. get your mum away for few days & help her to chill, there will be some explanation for the weird goings on but may be emotionally she needs it to be him contacting her

  6.   Being open minded also means being open to the paranornal. Apply the judicial method of reality testing ,that is look for a preponderance of the evidence, and draw your conclusions based on your open minded interpretation of the evidence. Based on what you say here, it looks like a solid case for him coming back to reassure the living of his continued existence , and sending his love. I don't put a lot of faith in Tarot cards, though. To me it's just a random shuffling of the cards. Any time a male face card, esp a king shows up, the stock interpretation is a significant male figure , varying according to the surrounding cards. Similarly, with a queen. it would indicate a prominent female figure.

I have had experience with telephone phenomena. When my father passed on, my wife answered the phone, and it was him. She was so shocked ,she accidentally hung up . She was a telephone operator for years, and has a perfect memory for voices. Also ,after our daughter passed, we got a disproportionate number of "dead" calls recorded on the answering machine. And the caller ID said "no data". We hardly ever before , or since have had such calls.

  7. I would totally dismiss anything the tarot card reader has said.

It's pretty obvious that all of us know at least someone that has died, whether they are a male or female.

    That just goes without saying.

Knocks on the widow---could be caused by a temperature flux between the outside temp against the inside temp from air conditioning.

If a phone repairman was in the area doing checks, they can call residences to ensure the phone line is working.

That may have been the odd phone call.

And the grandmother getting a strange phone call---it could have been a bad connection.

I'm not trying to dismiss your story.

I'm trying to give you an alternative side to the events.
