Do you think this will matter? (About spacers)

One of my spacers just fell out,and I'm supposed to get braces this upcoming Tuesday. (the 12th) And,they said to come back in if any fall out. Well, one just fell out,and they don't open again till Monday...I really don't think it matters if a spacer isn't in there, since Sunday is so close. And plus I don't think my mom will feel like going up there on Monday and Tuesday. XD

  1. No, you will be fine, although I would probably ask your mom to call ahead of time and at least let them know what happend w/ the spacer. I also use to have a spacer....blahhh

  2. I had spacers, and one broke off...do not run your tongue over the metal! OUCH!  Otherwise, since it's so close it should be fine.  Have your mom call them monday or call in the morning and have the answering service give the dentist a message and he can maybe email or call you

  3. It is odd that your dentist told you to come back if one falls out, my dentist said ( when I had spacers, which was a few months ago) that if one falls out then it means that the space has opened up and it is a good thing, one of mine had fallen out a couple of days before I got my braces and it made NO difference

  4. no it shouldn't but as my well apraised buddy's greenday say take away the pain inside so give me novicane

  5. It probably isn't going to be a big deal, but you need to call the office anyway just to make sure.  Most ortho's have emergency numbers you can call on weekends.  You are a new patient who sounds a little nervous, so that is what the number is for :)

  6. i dont think one day in between will matter at all.

  7. I had spacers, and I remember my ortho. saying, "if one falls out, leave it, but try to make sure they stay in and not pull on them."

    So I personally think u'll b ok.

Ohh, and as for the upcoming braces, i have them, and they get REALLY annoying, but my teeth are almost straight and im gunna get em off soon. They hurt at first. try 2 stay away from chips, m&ms, etc. they hury REALLY bad. if u dont like soft foods (i dont really either) you can have some pasta, just make sure itz a little overcooked. it tastes fine and is ALOT easier on the teeth. they will feel loose and they will hurt. try advil or tylenol (any pain killer really) if the pain is bad enough though, it wont really help. also, there are numbing mouth medicines that can help

    good luck!!
