my wanna get cichlids.my temperature is 80 degrees Fahrenheit. is that ok?my pH is 8.2 and my ammonia monitor is safe.(no ammonia)the water cycled for 48 hours.the only thing i am worried about is the 80 degrees.is that ok?

  1. What kind of cichlids and what size tank? There are african cichlids, dwarf cichlids, south african american...lots of variety's that need different ph's and temps. 80F is good for any tropical fish. Plus to cycle a tank there needs to be a source of ammonia. If you feed the tank every day and test ammonia nitrite and nitrate every day and once the ammonia gets back to zero and the nitrite and nitrate goes up your tank is fully cycled and you can add fish. This usually takes about a month.

  3. An aquarium doesn't fully cycle in 2 days. It takes about a month to fully cycle. you have to wait until nitrites spike, then go down, then when you have some nitrates then you're done cycling.
