  1. as long as they don't make a noise they can hang one on my butt

  2. i think they impriove the country side, just like a  old day windmilla

    and its makin power

which is onyl ever a good thing:)

  3. I don't like them.

    1. They are ugly (albeit not as bad as most other power generation facilities).

    2. They produce too little power for the cost and amount of land they take up.

    3. On average they only operate at 30% (most other types of power generation operate at 50-60%) and 15% of the time they don't run at all.

    4. They are hailed as a magic fix when in reality (among renewables) solar, hydro electic, tidal and geothermal are all better.

  4. I see many of them in California, and I think that they are much better looking than electricity generating plants that burn fossil fuels.  The wind turbines are graceful as compared to massive facilities with miles of pipes.  They are fine for me.

  5. theyre alright

i dont know why people complain =S

they're generating power for virtually nothing

and that's got to be worth it!!!

  6. the fact they play a role in caring for the environment makes them a welcome sight to most. If they had smoke billowing out of them, it would be a different story.

  7. I feel exactly the same way....they are lovely!!! and i don't think they are an eyesore on the landscape at all, in fact i think they enhance the scenery, and what's more......it's a green way to get energy-what could be better!!?

  8. I'd hate to see them everywhere (let's keep a few places unspoiled), but they aren't so bad that we need to ban them from any beautiful landscape.  They could certainly be nice if care is taken to ensure that they are not only placed in a functional location, but in an astetcally pleaing one as well.  I'm a little more concerned about the transmission lines that go with them as far as beauty is concerned.

Besides, if we are going to spoil the view with cell phone towers over the treeline anyway, why not include another useful bit of technology?

  9. They are elegant and graceful - a sculpture that performs ballet.  On top of that, they generate electricity without releasing CO2.  There are arguments that they will never produce enough electricity for us to rely on ... but so what?  Even a small contribution is worth having.

  10. Well who care's! if its going to help stop the planet dieing who care's!!!! I mean come on!

  11. NOT THE PRETTIEST THING I EVER SAW, BUT THEY DON'T DISTURB MY SENSE OF BEAUTY EITHER.

  12. they're beautiful..... but all those people who could benefit from them that are screaming "NOT IN MY YARD" will keep them away from just the places where they'd be of the most use..... silly peoples...........I love the newer ones that spin around a pole, too!....

  13. Eyesores and useless. They will never generate enough power unless we swamp the countryside with them. This is typical new labour mis-direction!

  14. I love them.
