How do you think the US would have done? I think they would have probably done better if they could have had more girls to spread out instead of some of them doing 3 or 4 each. I still think they did a solid job and everyone falls sometimes on all the teams so I'm not mad about the silver medal. I was actually happy to see the chinese get a gold medal, they all looked very happy. I enjoy hearing the other countries national athems sometimes too lol

  1. Well duh.

If the 2 were not injured, the other girls wouldn't have felt the extra pressure, extra nerves, and actually have something to fall back on incase of mistakes. They would not have had the entire U.S on their shoulders.

Alicia carried them emotionally the entire way, and the poor thing crashed. She is going to remember that for the rest of her life.

  2. i think the usa could have given the chinese a run for their money if the usa team didnt have the injuries and the falls during there performance

  3. Only if China didn't participate. Let's wait.

  4. my only problem is if u have hurt girls bring alts....

  5. Aw d**n, I missed the award ceremony. I only watched the U.S. girls do floor routine and beam routine, and all I can say was "wow". Even though they did not as good they're trained to do, I think they were too nervous. I mean seriously I felt kind of bad for the girl who fell and stepped out the boundaries on the floor routine and she also fell down on the beam routine. But who cares? The U.S. won silver! Yay ^^

  6. i definitely think the u.s. team could have won.

i wondered why they didn't pull in an alternate when memmel got hurt.

  7. Definitely, injuries prevent a team to perform at their best potential but injuries happen in every sport.

  8. Possibly. The only changes would be with Memmel and Pesek who would probably do one more event and have Liukin and Johnson do one less. I doubt the outcome would have really been much different as the Chinese still had the advantage coming in.

  9. its a great achievement but its blatant they were searching for the gold. im sure alicia sacramone is kicking herself right now and feeling she was the one that let the whole team down.

silver at 2004 olympics  silver at 2008 olympics

    not a bad effort

    they should be proud

now its time for the individual all round!

  10. This meet was going to be close no matter how you look at it.  There are just too many "ifs".  IF all the U.S. girls had been healthy... and IF they'd all hit their routines perfectly... and IF the chinese had had more mistakes... then maybe there'd have been a different outcome.  It really could have gone either way.  But this is how it worked out, and both teams should be happy!
