  1. Yea size means nothing. Its about how big ur heart is and how u go out and play the game. Heis very talented even though i can't stand OSU. I think he should come down to Miami and fix there problems

  2. I do think he is a very good QB.  But he is in a terrible situation now that they have brought in Flacco, so I don't think he makes it with the Ravens.  One place where he would fit in well is in the Canadian league (CFL).  He is built much better for this game and could be successful.

  3. Did anybody think Troy Smith had a future at OSU to begin with?  Even after a year?  After 2?  It takes time not only to adjust to the demands of a higher level game, but also to find a comfort level on a team.  I had thought Baltamore would be a great place for him when they got him.  His is an excellent athelete but more importantly has a winner's attitude and that counts for a lot more than a couple inches in height.  I was actually surprized when the Ravens got Flacco because I thought Smith could legitimately be the future there.

With Flacco being there, it will boil down to be a great quarterback competition to watch.  I honestly think Smith is a better qarterback then Flacco, but then again, I'm not the coach of the Ravens so it's not my call.  He will definitely earn his place on the team in whatever string that may be.  I think with time he will b more appreciated as he will continue to develop his skills and his leadership qualities begin to shine.  If Flacco works out for the Ravens, fine, whatever.  But he will either be a good starter for someone or an excellent backup.  It's still early to tell, but I believe he has the tools to be quite good if given the chance.

  4. He is as tall as Drew Brees, and Brees didn't look all that good his first couple years. I think he has a future, but maybe not as a starter. It just depends on where he ends up, since the Ravens aren't sold on him.

  5. Just because he's not on the front page of SI every month, doesn't mean he's no good.

He's a solid, intelligent player and he'll do well.

  6. Troy Smith is a beast. Good accuracy, great arm, get agility and speed. Hes a mcnabb.

  7. Joe Flacco looks exactly like Kyle Boller.. Troy Smith has all the potential in the world, he just needs put in the right position though. Once he screws up has a bad game etc he is done for in Baltimore. But i see him pullin through it and startin all season.

And Ron are you serious? randle els 15 tds a year to troys 30? one of my most accurate passers coming out of his draft, Great arm strength but just 2 inches smaller than everyone else. So what if hes 6'1 dude can throw.

O and Bli, i agree with you 100%

  8. yeah, he shouldn't worry about competing for the job right now. he should stay focused on what he has to do and not what others are doing. i detect haters in here by the way (probably people who haven't watched too much him at all). the thing i like about him is that he is definitely a gamer (his attitude is correct). i watched him today in a replay of an exhibition game and he looked pretty solid compared to the qb who came in right after he was pulled. i think it was flacco...........and let me say something to the people who talked this guy up.........he sucks worse than anything i have seen thus far. even the announcers were ripping him apart. saying things like, "this isn't delaware, you can't hold onto the ball that long before taking a sack". from what i watched, flacco took around 3 sacks and fumbled the ball away. yeah, size means everything..........come up with something new, please..........stuff is getting old..........

  9. He was a little over average college QB. No he will never be more than a mediocre NFL QB. Size has some difference. I mean you ever see Gary Colman as an NFL QB? He runs well throws are not well placed. Antwone Randall El was a better College QB and he had to change positions in the NFL if he wanted a job. Same for Smith.
