Do you think ugly people should be allowed to euthanize themselves?

Especially women, like me, since no wants to see their horrid face?

Things ugly women cannot do:

1) find a decent, financially secure man

2) pass on defective genes (that should be a crime)

3) Be incredibly successful even in fields like law and business since its the look that holds a silent sway

4) Be socially accepted since we are always derided.

5) We make others want to vomit

For these reasons alone, Ugly featured women, just as myself, should be allowed to kill themselves. Why isn't it legal?

If you honestly think you're ugly then you've either been hanging out with the wrong crowd for too many years or you have some psychiatric problem! You're a natural beauty! Your major issue is your self-esteem. I don't know what's causing such a distorted self-image, but you are beautiful!

Besides, beauty is subjective anyways. Some guys think some girls are ugly and other guys think the same girls are hotties! So you will find a decent, financially secure man. However, he's not going to want to go out with you for very long if you have a poor self-image.

I've witnessed a relationship between two friends of mine go down the drain. Not because the girl was unattractive, but because she was so convinced she was fat (when she's actually underweight) that she kept wishing she was dead. Obviously her boyfriend couldn't deal with that attitude anymore.

So the moral of this story? Project your self-confidence and make sure everyone knows you have a high opinion of yourself. You'd be surprised how easily drawn people are to those with confidence. They always wonder, "Well, if she's so confident, it's because she has something that nobody else does. I wonder what that is, and if maybe by hanging out with her it'll rub off on me too..."

Basically, don't appear to be miserable with your life and NEVER look desperate! That'll keep the undesirable guys away (for the most part, unless they're so convinced they have a shot... then they might not leave you alone) and will attract nice guys who you'll get along great with! It may even get to the point where you'll have to start telling the guys to take a number because there's no way to fit them all in your schedule! :)

what is the definition of ugly? who decided what makes somone pretty? u know who wasnt too attractive? people who rely on their looks to go places are worthless anyways

PS- Even the most "beautiful" celebrities have crummy love lives. Just look at Jessica Simpson.

I saw your picture, you aren't ugly. You have a nice smile and pretty eyes. Just because you might be having a hard time finding a nice guy, doesn't mean you are ugly. It means you just haven't found Mr. Right. You will, but if you can't embrace the cool you, how can you expect someone else too? You got to show the world that you believe in yourself and that you are worth a whole lot.Remind yourself that you are worth a lot:)

I really,really feel for you-because I was in your shoes once. I was shy and overweight as a kid and suffered horrendous bullying, so when I reached adulthood,although I was now slim, I had no self-worth and believed I was hideously,freakishly ugly & fat  and would never have a job or normal life.

I still 'tried' to make myself look better and friends would say, 'god,you're not ugly, you actually look like you could be on tv or in movies' and I'd think they were either 'being nice' or,worse, taking the mickey out of me.

  In the end I discovered I was suffering body dismorphic syndrome-imagined ugliness. You need to see a dr--they will help you to overcome this.

Every woman is beautiful, we are all different and and are ALL wonderful. You are not ugly, so you need to stop thinking like that, even if you think you aren't beautiful we all are in our own ways? Maybe you have beautiful, sparkling eyes, or a dazzling smile, and a kick butt personality. It's very sad you feel this way, and all the reasons you stated for euthanasia are completely untrue, so stop thinking so negatively! Live is too short to wallow!

i will comment on all of your points

1) it doesn't matter what is on the outside but on the inside, like a famous philosopher said once " the most beautiful people on the inside are the ugliest people on the outside"

2) you have recessive genes that may make the prettiest baby you have ever seen

3) jobs are not based on how pretty people look, it may have to do with clothes and the way that people present themselves

4) to be socially accepted doesn't mean to be popular, it is to be popular with your friends, tha ones that accept you for who you are

5) now that is just stupid

if you have confidence in your looks then people will see that confidence and think you look more beautiful that anyone

The challenge of the euthanization issue is what starts as voluntary and for a good reason almost always become involuntary, without the consent of the victim.

While Dr K started out helping terminal patients kill themselves, he then assisted a healthy woman to commit suricide. The Netherlands laws of doctor assited death was intended to help old people or those with terminal diseases. Informed consent was a big issue. However, shortly after the law was passed it was used to justfy killing newborns albeit those with terminal conditions.

What you propose harkens back to the social Darwinism of the 20s and 30s. Who decides what is "ugly" What is "ugly?" What happens when an "ugly" doesn't want to die?

I looked at your pictures on the link, just because I wanted to see like a toothless gray haired fattie with facial moles or something.  I think you are very pretty,  i also think that this question is a way for you to get back some comments that are like oh your so pretty.  I get it though.  Everyone needs a little Ego boost every once in awhile.  Anyway, if you really feel like you said in the question, they make medications for depressed people.  You should tell a doctor that you need a little something for depression and see what he suggests.

Just checked your photo. You are depressed not ugly. I have been married twice and had a number of other relationships, and I know ugly. There are numerous ways to fight depression; just talking about it to someone you trust really helps. Ugliness is harder to cure, but believe me, you are NOT ugly.

I was reading your answers and DON'T you just hate it when people say, OH personality is what counts and things along that line, well I don't know about you that makes me feel even WORSE! I just had a breakdown of my own about this same issue..about 5 minutes ago.

I checked your link and you have NOTHING to worry about, you are naturally beautiful, trust me I am telling you from my heart! You also seem like you have a really fun personality based on your smile which is an even bigger bonus.

For some reason I can see you as when I was a child, looking up to my uncles fiancee and wondering how someone can be so pretty, nice and intelligent. No joke. I dunno why, like a role model.

I am not going to tell you oh personality is what counts because I don't need to let you down lightly, I think you are gorgeous!

And for that illegal thing...I wonder myself the question many times. But look up, dress your best, because I know you can have the confidence to show everybody up you just have to use it. ^_^
