Do you think we are desended for monkeys?

me and my dad used to discuss this all the time but he passed away in 95 and now I want to fid out what others think

No.  I think that we were descended from the same ancestor as monkeys.  We're cousins, not grandparent and grandchild.

No. I think that all primates, including humans, apes, and monkeys are descended from a common ancestor. Modern monkeys are at the same point in their evolutionary journey as we are.

The theory of evolution/natural selection is complex.  Study it for yourself and arrive at your own conclusion.  What others think is only opinion, anyway.

This question gets asked far to often here.  NO!!! We did not descend from monkeys, we share a common ancestor with monkeys.  This question is like asking if you descended from you 7th cousin twice removed.  No, you just had someone way back in the family tree you can both claim.  Apes would be closer cousins and Chimps would be your first cousin since you share abut 98% of your genome.

The theory of evolution does not state that we came from monkeys. It's more like we share a common ape-like ancestor.

I believe in evolution. Those who believe in evolution do not believe that we are descended from monkeys! They believe that we had a common ancestor with chimpanzees about 5-7 million years ago and with gorillas about 7-9 million years ago. Our common ancestor with monkeys goes back much further. In any case, both our hominid ancestors and the chimpanzees' ancestors have continued to evolve since we had this common ancestor.  So, no, we did not descend from monkeys. Anyone who know anything about evolution know that.

Yes, I think the theory that we are descended from apes makes a lot of sense.

Some proof of this is that, apes/monkeys have very close DNA to Humans, and plus they're very intelligent, there have been some cases where people even taught apes/monkeys sign language.

And if this isn't enough proof read Charles Darwin's book.

i kno that even tho science proves evolution! (the desent from monkeys) many ppl beleive since we are desended....... there is no God!

it still doesnt cover the fact that God doesnt exist! cuz who exactly put the monkeys on the earth in the first place.....who exactly made such mammals exist?
