Do you think we could possibly go to cancun on thursday?

my husband are i are mexican american and we absolutely love beautiful cancun!! the people there are wonderful and we always feel at home there.our flight to cancun sunday was canceled due to dean , which was very dissapointing, but most us all we prayed and hoped all our friends in cancun would be safe and okay. we have a small chance we can reschedule to thursday, and would loveit if we could go thursday to cancun along with our 3 year old son. do you think we could go on thursday?

I would think that you would be able to go on Thursday. Dean made landfall well south of Cancun. Unless Dean changes directions Cancun won't see anything more than tropical storm force winds.

Electric service may not be functioning that soon, aside the cleanup.  That's only two days time.

You'll just have to wait for reports.

It seems like Dean is hitting rather hard.  Winds over 200 km/hr.  Areas near Cancun are being hit hard.  If I were you I'd wait a little longer before rescheduling.

I would suggest you reschedule until later as we cannot know the extent of Dean's damage until the next 24-36 hours pass. Too soon to tell.

im actually leaving for cancun tomorrow morning. im going with about 5 people and we all agreed to go..the worst is over for cancun and it was just alot of rain..we called our hotel and they said as of now its just alot of rain and its really windy but that by tomorrow it should be done and it should be sunny again...

I think you should wait til mid-day today for more reports.  Looks like Cancun was mostly spared.  Give it a few hrs before making a decision.
