A Ballad for Fenway and Blue
by C.S. Scotkin
I sing a song , Fenway and Blue
my two grand-dogs, faithful, true!
They live way over the bay,
I never see them enough!
Fenway, canine adolescent,
seems that you were always meant
to chase your Frisbees and tail
to chew up your squeaky toys!
Blue, one brown eye, one sapphire,
a good old boy, you retire
to your bed by the window
while watching Fenway’s antics.
Good dogs! I thank you personally,
treasures you guard so well for me,
your masters, my children dear,
keep them safe all through the night.
