  1. Yes we do.

Read these boards, see how many people have posted negative things about George Bush and lived to tell.

Can you say that about other countries?

  2. Yes, to a great extent but there are certain groups of people, liberals, college campuses, educators, minority groups, YA, who would replace our freedom of speech with political correctness which is another term for " say only what we want you to say."

I think America is growing tired of PC and Liberals, educators, etc. and will move, ere long, to rid ourselves of these proctological nuisances.

  3. We have freedom, but there are more and more restrictions on what is polite speech, and labels such as hate speech, racist, anti this or that, so our freedoms are being cut away, one word at a time.

  4. You have freedom of speech anywhere, it's just a matter of how long and who you talk to before big men with weapons beat you and drag you away.

  5. Yes we do jsut look at what some of these idiot are allowed to say(IE: the guy up to of me....)

  6. In the US for the most part, yes!   On Yahoo Answers, h**l no !  These pukes are worse than the Chinese Politburo !

  7. barely

  8. We do, but not for long...

If that gets passed, prepare for Communist America.

  9. absolutely not.

  10. Read about what happened to Wikileaks.  It's now still offline.  They are a whisleblower site, that put documents about a bank in the Cayman Islands on the web, because they have rich clients in the USA that use their bank to avoid paying US taxes.

While you're researching wikileaks, read about the US government's successful push to take newsgroups offline en masse.   They have done this by pressuring internet service providers that they are distributing child p**n.   Instead of taking the offfending newsgroups offline, they are taking thousands of groups offline, many with political content.

Now, go and lookup a document written by "Project for A New American Century", titled "Rebuilding America's Defenses".  http://www.newamericancentury.org/defens...

and find the sections where they talk about controlling the internet.

    Its here, and now.

No. If we did there would be no such thing as free speech zones. Sure, you can say whatever you like waaayyyy over here where nobody else will hear you. But do it in the wrong place at the wrong time and you will be arrested. Possibly beaten and tasered publicly. To keep the 'peace', of course.

Okay, somebody at least give me a thumbs down so I know you can see my post. I can't even find this question on the list now. Are we in a free speech zone, lol?

  12. We have more freedom here than any place on earth, and any time in history.  That doesn't mean the right to force anyone to listen.  The scary part is college students denying others the right to hear a guest speaker.

You're asking for opinions.  Opinions don't have to be defended.  They just are.
