  1. What do you think: UFC, PRIDE, Pro Wrestling, and Pro Boxing constitute?  How about dog fights, c**k fights, and other blood sports?  We have gladitorial games already here in the states!

Do you remember when Phil Donohue wanted to televise live executions from prison on his show?  America is the new Rome - a nation of engineers, lawyers, and soldiers!

  2. Just go down town on a Friday or Saturday night. You'll see plenty of gladitorial games then.

  3. Thats actually quite a good idea. They could start off by using the worst prisoners, then when they were gone, they could use petty criminals and if they survived they could go free.

It would also release billions of pounds for the public purse as we would not be paying for the upkeep of all those prisoners.

  4. NO

  5. That's not a bad idea.  We could pit career criminals, drug dealers, child molesters, and death row inmates against each other.  Then they could provide a service for society....entertainment.

  6. Just kill off the prisoners, they are a waste of tax dollars already. We could force liberals into death matches, which would serve multiple purposes. As you said, it would raise money for the government through taxes, it would prevent decay of the human gene pool (liberals are riddling with bad genes), and it would prevent idiots like the democrats from ever talking office.

I apologize for getting so political in the anthropology section.

  7. never mind prisoners use the teenage louts that terrorise our streets

  8. Who said they left?

The Gladiators were the pro-sports players of the Roman world.  very few people in the arena (that had weapons) were criminals.  Most were slaves, which are most often captured in war.  And slaves aren't cheap to start with, and these guys got alot of training (something Sparticus and Gladiator got RIGHT).

Sometimes there were battles, even naval battles.

How different from American Football is that really?  A bunch of heavily armored guys beating each other up...

Or pro wrestling, except these games weren't scripted.

If you are looking for a form of capitol punishment, I suggest  you listen to george carlin's bit on it.  Quite funny.

  9. we have them dont we in the form of sport

    footie

    boxing and rugby

  10. NO-- Too wimpy --  We have Ultimate Fights.. Fighters pound  and kicking each other till one of fighters is knocked into Disney World,,,.The only rules is none .. but no biting and chocking

  11. Yeah. Stick all the abusive and disrespectful teenagers in it. That'll sort the men from the boys!!

  12. Gladitorial games? Why, we've got American football.

  13. As much as something needs to be done about our bulging prisons, i dread to think what type of people would want to watch  other people killing each other and what type of person would even suggest it, i think a sick one.

  14. YES!  I agree the prisoners shouldn't get a vacation like that they have to do some work!

  15. yes that would be freaking awsome and maybe we could incorporate dueling into the modern day society as well

  16. Hi David

Do you not think the thought of people killing eachother for sport is somewhat primitive not to mention barbaric, and i nearly omitted the fact we are supposed to be animals of a higher order. Hmmmmm, let me be the first to say with due respect that i'm glad you do not hold a cabinet seat in government. No doubt there may be one or two politicians that may be warped enough to agree with you, however thank god they don't really count because they are usually far removed from the world that exists outside of Westminster.

Take care and be well bud
