Yes.  At this point, the trade embargo is essentially an American embargo that is barely recognised by the WTO or other nations.

I live in Canada and we trade with Cuba despite (sometimes I think "in spite") the American embargo.  So does most of Europe, some Asian countries, and the rest of the Caribbean.

But given the current US government's need to trail blaze it's own, unilateral, path in the world, I doubt very much Americans will be holidaying in Cuba en masse anytime soon.  Which is good since it means more beach space for the rest of us!

The embargo .....What embargo ??? both  

the US and Cuba use to embargo to justify their position.

The US voted the embargo ( Helms -Burton law) but are one of the biggest food supliers of Cuba. Huge tons of rice and frozen food are sold to Cuba. Delegations with Congress members are sent to negociate more food deals beause several US States are depending on the business.

Cuba does business with all other countries... Canada, China,Rusia, Europa etc.

There is a travel restriction for US citizens to travel to Cuba but there are lots of exceptions , with  licenses for Cultural , Religion, humanitairian reasons. Lots of US citizens travel illegal to Cuba. There are restrictions on sending money to Cuba, but the money sent by families abroad is still the biggest

source of income for Cubans.

On the other hand , Cuba uses the embargo to justify the food shortages and other problems in the country.

So both parties benefit from the embargo but as a matter of fact the embargo is worthless and only political bla bla.

YES... it is long overdue, but the wealthy cubans in Miami don't want it and they pay the Politicians to keep up that stupid embargo because of Castro.
