Antivirus 2009 sabotage your computer to get you to purchase their software - they install viruses and provide false details about detecting viruses. This is a criminal offence and should be reported to the Police. Should we not have a body dedicated to internet crime. Perhaps people who have had it can band together as witnesses.

All the police need to do is find the page where this happens and then get their computer technician to look at it.

It's not difficult to obain evidence to prove they are criminals.

Although the damage to the individual is not that great, this type of behaviour is very sinister.

I have seen several professional comments from IT people but none of them appear to be the type that would think to call the police. Perhaps this should change.

What do you think?

  1. I think this is interesting but nothing to do with Hockey.

  2. Well, just call your town police department and talk to them about it.

Just a phone call away. The police won't know until you tell them.

  3. Do you really think it's that simple? Even if you could find the server which is hosting the site which infects you, it would be virtually impossible to prosecute anyone, and they will simply move the server anyway.

By the way - try to post it in a relevant section instead of hockey and you might get some sensible answers.
