  1. Funny.

Next "green" politician needs to focus on large businesses IMO, someone has to start regulating how much energy they are using. Demand response is one answer..

  2. What's that saying?

Do as I say, not as I do.

  3. The news of Gore's increased power usage is just an indication of his typical double standards as applies to the energy problem.  How this man won a Nobel prize is beyond me given that many meteorologists and scientists today dispel globing warming as a myth, saying instead that what we're experiencing is cyclical...same as what was said years ago about an impending ice age.  One can't help but wonder where Gore was then and why wasn't he touting the sales of fur-lined parkas.

  4. Al Gore has solar panels on his roof, do you?  He has been wanting to put them on his roof since about 2001 when he moved in but Nashville wouldn't let him.  He has talked to them many times and they would always say no to him.  Finally, last year they changed the rule and they told him he could put up solar panels but only where no one could see them.  SO HE DID,  he now has 30 panels on his roof, of course he would like more but because they would be seen from the road he can't.  Is his house big?  Yes.  But did he build it himself?  No.  He bought a used house which is a lot more green than if he had one built.  If he did not live there someone else would and chances are they would not be living there as green as him.

  5. That is how the democrats work . We will robe from the rich but we don't give it to the poor,we just keep it... Then when we need more just raise TAXES.... They will never agree to anything that might help our fuel problem. They prefer to buy our oil from our ENEMY.....

  6. Everyone should conserve energy; Gore has set a prime example by modifying his home to be more energy-efficient and trying to use more fuel-efficient vehicles (including airplanes). Just because Gore has more than most of us have doesn't mean he's a hypocrite.

If every one of us practiced energy conservation in even the slightest ways, it would be beneficial.

If you expect Gore to reduce his lifestyle to a minimal standard, then you should rightfully expect to do the very same yourself.

If you believe Gore should move out of his home to conserve energy, then be prepared to move out of your home. Gore's not the hypocrite; those who criticize him (usually without even knowing what he does for personal energy conservation) and then refuse to do their own part are the real hypocrites.

Maybe we can't reduce the vehicle emissions from our privately-owned jet like Gore can, but almost any of us can easily commit to taking fewer, shorter showers; not throwing our plastic water bottles into landfills; REducing, REusing and REcycling as much as we possibly can; driving less; carpooling; using more mass transit or using canvas shopping bags instead of [petroleum-based] plastic bags.

When you point fingers at someone, three fingers are pointing back at you. Jealousy over what Gore has [and you don't have] is no justifiable reason for you to continue squandering earth's resources. I'm sure Al Gore does his part; I hope you do yours.  -RKO-  07/04/08

  7. We can't control Al Gore.  We can only control ourselves.

Yes, we should use less energy, as that's the prudent thing to do.   But our reason for doing so should have nothing to with inconsiderate people who glutton themselves with overconsumption.

  8. hah

that guy is such a hypocrite

  9. No way. I demand that Al Gore uses less energy so we can use more. He's already had his turn in line for big, energy-spewing property.

  10. the peasents go without so the king can have more

  11. Compared to Gore most of our lifestyles are already at a minimal standard.

Someone once said that having the right to do something doesn't make one right in doing it.  This should certainly apply to Al Gore.  But, since he can afford the so-called carbon credits, that makes it all better somehow.  I still haven't quite figured that one out.

  12. I don't see how someone can make a change if they do

    .. .. .

And Gorie will not use more he will just sell it to the highest bidder

    .. . ..

Remember the main plan of all Americans is to get what they can get will they can get it

    .. .. ..

    This is the American way

    Sue you in court

    steal it from you or

make you look like you are unable to take care of it so I can take it from you

    .. .. .

  13. There are a lot of people who waste energy in this country, and they feel a sense of entitlement about it.

In order for this to change, we will need a huge change in cultural values.   Economic conditions won't change it, because as the economy goes down, wealth becomes even more concentrated.   The enormous overuse of our energy resources  by those who benefit  will drive the prices up, but it will be others who will suffer because of it.

  14. Look Algore saved a lot of paper by inventing the internet. Give the slob credit.
