I pulled out a technology magazine a couple days ago from 1993 and it had an article about a fyin car that was in the works.

The 1993 magazine also predicted that everyone would hav one by 2000. lol so what happened?? And do you think that these are a possibility in the future?

  1. i dont doubt it...

with technology now a days they probably already have a flying car invented..

  2. The idea of flying cars like the jetsons is ambitious, but not nearly as easy as it sounds... but just to let you know, flying cars do exist, however you need a runway to land and take off. there are also typed of helicopters that have powered wheels at the bottom, and are thus technically flying cars... but the whole notion of jetsons type flying cars is silly to say the least, why? physics, and gravity, that's why.

  3. yes in 1000 years

  4. they call flying cars - "planes" though

  5. no because there's no real incentive.  beside if you look there are flying cars but there just not economical or very marketable.  the hardest part of flying is landing. how ever in the distance future there might be hovering cars that use an EM field to propel them.  right now the one of the biggest problems is fuel primarily  gasoline.  and the main reason y cars need so much is because of the wheel and road create a lot of friction and a car is no light weight.  so i think the car of the future might be a car that uses no gas and float on set paths to get a round kind of like a sub way train.  but then again human are lazy even i am.  so we most likely never do this and just make a car that runs on H but it'll be less effect and more costly then a gasoline car but it will be environmentally friendly.  oh yea for the avg consumer that buys a car the H cars won't be affordable for us for and other 50y minimum

  6. I hope not.

I also been waiting for a flying car since the 80's (I'm old).  But so I took some flying lessons and I found flying is NOT driving.  I would HATE to see stupid people flying OVER my house.  Instead of minor fender benders (people who won't yield), they would instead be dropping out of the sky and killing themselves and into my house.

If you read the post here, people don't even know how to maintain their cars, let alone the flying cars.  When flying cars stall, it doesn't just "pull over" - they fall out of the sky.

    Good Luck...

  7. I don't believe it's possible to allow people that sort of freedom to fly around where ever they want to go. Most drivers have trouble obeying traffic laws while on the ground where there's lanes, signs, signals, etc. Possibly in the future if these vehicles were controlled by some central computer system, but right now thats science fiction !

  8. I think that's a good possibility, but as for when,     your guess is as good as mine.
