  1. Only if the Russians start something else.

  2. Eventually.

  3. No, don't worry about it.

Our government won't let it escalate that far.  Our troops are spread too thin and we are in a recession, we can't afford a war right now.

Besides, Russia is a weak country now.  We'd obliterate them in a couple of months.

  4. no the in the big pitcher they are on our side. but we need to take advantage of it and work together to help one another's economies they could be our greatest allies.and us theirs.

  5. As our military resources are already spread thin in Iraq and Afghanistan, going to war with Russia doesn't appear likely.

  6. I think it will be interesting to see how Russia responds to increasing criticism and pressure worldwide. Putin is a very unpredictable leader. I think that the United States needs to lay off and defer the situation to the European Union. If we continue to antagonize them with threats, I believe that the Cold War, in detente since the 80's, could turn hot. This will take some very delicate diplomacy, something President Bush seems incapable of.

  7. Can't really help you till one of worst presidents is out of office. Who knows what he will do when true money lenders tell their pawns to put their puppet into action. Things to remember: We are having tuff time fighting two wars we currently are frightening. Would guess after watching how effectively Bush ran his last wars many in military are quietly telling him how unwise war with Russia would be at this time.Atomic weapons half life hasn't completely occurred on olds weapons yet. And thank supreme being inadequate anti-missile system isn't in place.

  8. Not a hot war with troops directly facing each other.  At least not if either can avoid it.  But the Cold War never stopped.  They just weren't in a position to challenge us before so they rolled over whenever we pushed.

  9. Russia can’t afford to go to war with us. If they continue bullying Georgia they will be cut off and sanctioned by the world (meaning the one that through donation keeps their economy alive). There weapons are scarce and out dated. There resources are slim. They have nukes but at the first sight of attack we will bomb them off the map.

Also i am sick and tired of people saying we are spread to thin to fight a war, every true American should consider ones self a soldier. That makes us a few hundred million strong. (Worthless bottom feeders north and especially south border immigrants don’t count). We are in a recession only by our own standards. Even in our broke years we are still among the top of the GDP.

  10. why would we?

They didn't do enough to cause an all out war between us. I believe things will turn to normal in a few days, russia was just flexing her muscle to show the world russia is still up there.

  11. Stop burying your head in the sand nobody can go to war with the US. Russia going to war with the US is stupid. The US is already in the early stages of Recession. Nobody can destroy the most powerful nation on Earth, it can only destroy its self.

  12. It seems unlikely at this point.  The revised cease fire agreement has been reported to essentially:

    1. Get both sides' troops back to where they were prior to the fighting

    2. Allow the Russians to stay around and conduct "security operations" for up to 6 months.

    3. Stop the fighting

    4. Allow for humanitarian aid to the region

The reported agreement has no conditions for involvement of the US military, other than to provide humanitarian aid.  There is also no allotment for independent overseers to ensure the terms are being met.  Hence, the Georgians are upset.

At this point, it seems that the United States is resigned to staying out of the matter other than to issue UN-esque resolutions that have no real "bite".

  13. No, Russia isn't powerful enough to face us. They will eventually back down (assuming we don't puss out)

  14. no all the troops are occupied and the USA has never fought a war against another Nuclear power
