  1. In the next 10 000 years we will have a weather like these days;

    nothing special.

  2. i highly dought that because the eath is heading into a heat age, it has already been throught 2 ice ages (totally true) people think that teh warming and polar bear's death is caused by us, but some scientist say that antartica and noth pole is still left over from the ice age and all of those animals are primitive. But i am not saying that so us humans dont have to worry what we are doing to our eath cant be good. it is totally unatural. we should become vegitarians and drive hybrinds for our children's sake

  3. 100 years is very short in terms of geological time.  The will be more ice ages, but not in such a short time.

  4. The way things are going, you can't see ice any where in next 100 years, except in your fridge. Yes, there are remote chances, when the fossil fuels will finish, alongwith all the energy sources, the ice age may return. The human race will be extinct before that.

  5. Of course not! Don’t be ridiculous. It is well understood that the alternation between glacial (ice ages) and interglacial periods are caused by the Milankovitch cycles (small, regular changes to Earth’s Orbit). Our recent climate changes have nothing to do with the Milankovitch cycles.

The next ice age will come no matter what -- because of a regular wobble in the orbit of Earth the will bring us farther from the sun. The last interglacial period lasted about 28, 000 years (we are 11, 500 years into our current interglacial period), and it took another 5000 years before ice overtook northern hemisphere forests.

Changes from global warming due to anthropogenic greenhouse gases are occurring today, and could have the potential to negatively affect the lives of billions of people today  and over the next few decades -- not 28,000 years from now.

  6. At this time I believe we are just now beginning another solar minimum which portends another ice age.

Nasa predicted an record record solar cycle #24 - see here:

    http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2006/...

However solar cycle 24 is late by months and the sun is almost deathly quiet:

At the same time record low temperatures keep piling up World Wide:

Wouldn't this make you think we are going into another ice age?

  7. That is an interesting question especially when we are talking about global warming. Yes, some scientists think we are heading for ice age but no one is sure about what is coming up.

Global warming and cooling are natural factors and every few thousand years our earth goes through the phase of getting hot or global warming and getting colds or ice age.

Present problem we are facing is of global warming but the big factors pushing us towards a warmer temperature are human induced and in immediate future of say around 50 to 70 years we expect the global temperature to go up by around 1 to 6 degrees centigrade.

Now what will happen after that? That is a big question and I do not think anyone will be able to answer that for sure. But be rest assured this cycle of warming and cooling will continue and I just hope we soon understand the phenomenon in a better way to be ready for coming years.

  8. Not in the next 100, the next 25. After the planet recoils from extreme heat first.

  9. no i see us frying to death before a ice age

  10. We are already living in an ice age.  All of recorded human history has been lived in an interglacial period of an ice age.  This interglacial period will not last forever and is pretty much due to end soon.  One answerer mentioned burning fossil fuels and was completely correct in this answer.  Humanity's impact on the environment, e.g. global warming, is what is keeping this at bay. We have changed our environment to suit us, for good or ill, and we now have to deal with the consequences. If we put a stop to all emissions and let nature take her course, the glaciers will rapidly advance - and much sooner than 100 years.  This is well known to scientists, but the media and politicians skew everything to fit their agenda.

  11. ICE AGE IS THE LEAST OF OUR CLIMATE CONCERNS!!

There is only one way to re-right our wrong (G.W).....

And that would be to simply, go back to being primitive, thus, going back to living in caves!!!!

Hmmm, but, NOBODY IS PREPARED TO DO THIS!!!!

Whatever or however we gained our intelligence is the sole cause of G.W. We would go out of our minds with boredom to make this sacrifice....It's never going to happen.

Is this fate? Meant to be?....Yes, of course it is... So why worry and stress about this when the answer in rectifying this situation is obvious??!!!

But, on the other hand, when our resources finally do run out, which they will, we will have no other choice than to ultimately live as we once did...What will be wil be. Que sera sera....

    Well i ain't going back to no cave..Hugga bugga...where my club....LOL

  12. if the global still warming, i don't think so

  13. no this time it will be the water age the water is coming to a place near YOU soon

  14. Looking at the current trend the next ice age will only come when we have stopped using fossil fuels and I assure you that you have to wait for a long long time for that to happen.

  15. well the way we r behaving wid the nature i thnk we will probably see an ice age in th next hundred years..........and if we do not ,we can atleast see another ice age movie atleast

  16. I don't think that humankind will see another ice age. We are polluting this earth so much that one dayit would be filled with poisonous gases and becomes inhabitable. I am seriously concerned about this.

  17. Next ice age is not possible in next 100 yrs. According to the present activity it wont happen until next 10000 yrs.

  18. I sure hope so, because it will shut up all the global warming fanatics!!!

  19. yes due to nuclear fission the temperature of earth will decrease and the ice age of the future will form.

  20. An ice age? We're talking about global WARMING, not global COOLING, genius!

  21. most probably due to climate change and may b it will occur near north eastern atlantic may b western europe

  22. maybe

  23. Global warming will cause a ice age to come pre-mature , the only difference this is the only man made one in the earth's history .

    with regards

  24. I think it might happen, maybe and it also probably sciene fiction, anythings possible.

  25. Of couse not! We are currently facing a global warming crisis and that means increase in world temperature. An ice age is a matter of several thousand years.

  26. Yes ice age will surely come, but no one would  b there to see it as global warming is the concept that will kill out the human beings leaving cockroaches all alive.

  27. hi I don't think we can see an ice age in the next 100 ys coz it might take the earth a long time to get abondened as it gets covered with snow there won't be any humans left on the earth. Yes but it is certain that there will be an iceage but we are not quiet sure in how many years.
