  1. We are all going to die sometime, but the question is, will we die because of global warming.  You and I will probably not die from global warming, but it is entirely concievable that mankind could eventually dissappear from the effects of global warming.  There are a lot that people who don't understand about global warming.  Most of them are the ones way brush it off as some environmental sales company scare tactics.  If you truly do the research, you will find that we have caused problems that are going to be difficult, but not impossible, to recover from.  Hop on your computer and do a little research on a guy by the name of Will Steiger and what his study results are.

It is not something you should worry about since you cannot control what other people do.  However, it is something you should do something about.  Switch to biodegradable cleaners, recycle everything you can.  Walk or ride a bike instead of drinving a car.  Encourage your family and friends to do the same.  It may sound a bit trite, but, if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.  Do your share and the world and our environment will be in great shape.

I hope a miracle finds you today.

  2. oh yeah.

Increasing temperature is likely to lead to increasing precipitation but the effects on storms are less clear. Extratropical storms partly depend on the temperature gradient, which's predicted to weaken in the northern hemisphere as d polar region warms more than the rest of the hemisphere.

For historical reasons to do with trade, many of the world's largest and most prosperous cities r on the coast, and the cost of building better coastal defenses (due to the rising sea level) is likely to be considerable. Some countries will b more affected than others — low-lying countries such as Bangladesh and the Netherlands would be worst hit by any sea level rise, in terms of floods or the cost of preventing dem.

Some Pacific Ocean island nations, such as Tuvalu, r concerned about the possibility of an eventual evacuation, as flood defense may become economically unviable 4 dem. Tuvalu already has an ad hoc agreement with New Zealand to allow phased relocation.

if those tv ads r scarin u, do somethin to prevent these disasters!!!!

  3. No, we will not and don't allow commercials to control your life, read about the issue from many sources and draw a conclusion  based upon your research.

  4. No, but if you live by the coast, you might want to consider a home further in-land.  Way further in-land.

  5. Not in an instant.

If you're really freaked out now, then go green! Don't go completely green where you have to change your whole lifestyle. Just do a little bit at a time by saving water, bringing your own bag when you go to the grocery store instead of their paper and plastic bags, etc.

  6. Yeah, the earth has natural cycles - this is a cycle.  It is also a great way to get people all hyped up b/c everyone knows media loves stuff like this!  You can "Go Green"; but I doubt thats the cause... I betcha a million to one the earth will heat up and cool on its own axis whether we mistreat it or not.

On that note I will also say that we should reduce reuse recycle for a change regardless of the earth.  We have too much consumerism in our society today; but I dont think thatll stop a global climate change imo.  Dont freak out... Just buy sweaters : o )

  7. I don't think you should believe anybody who claims they can see the future.  A lot of the answer is probably up to us.  The human race evolved at the peak of a great ice age.  We know we can survive cold as low as 5-10 degrees Centigrade.  Our minds and bodies are actually most efficient around those temperatures.

Rises in temperature (above where we are now) of as little as 4 degrees Centigrade have in the past taken thousands of years, but have killed all of the more advanced forms of life every time it's got that warm.  We aren't sure if the cause of the temperature rise was the same every time.  We aren't even sure that it was the direct cause of each extinction, or only some of them.  We do know this has happened six times, and it was 4 degrees warmer every time.  We also know it's never got that hot in between (since life came on land).

For example, right before the last mass extinction there were bivalve mollusks (similar to oysters or clams) as big as a dinner plate.  After the extinction (a period of a few centuries or millenia) they still exist, but are only the size of pencil dots.  Today they have regained some of their former size, being the size you are used to seeing at the market.  These are a critical species.  They were among the earliest animal life.  They played a crucial role in capturing the carbon removed from the atmosphere by algae and converting it to calcium carbonate (their shells) that would not readily convert back to CO2.  Without them, the work of the algae in removing CO2 from the atmosphere would have been more impermanent than it was.  It was only after hundreds of millions of years of birth and death of these simple creatures that the atmosphere was ready for plant and animal life advanced enough to move onto the land.  At each great mass extinction, they were knocked back in the same way as the last one, but they survived.  Their survival made a huge difference in the ability of life to regenerate itself after the mass extinctions

Sharks appeared hundreds of millions of years later, but also somehow survived each mass extinction that killed off most more advanced species.

In the same way we can see that the humble turtle survived the last great extinction, as did early crocodiles.

You can see that if a few creatures (even very simple ones) had not survived, life would have had to begin all over at the beginning.  The reverse is also true.  Had more of the advanced forms survived life would have probably rebounded more quickly.  Because the pollution by humans is different from anything that has ever happened, the survival of turtles or bivalves is not guaranteed.

This is the part that is up to us.  Greater numbers of species of animal life are going extinct than during any of the six other mass extinctions (biodiversity scientists refer to the present as the seventh).  There are NO guarantees.  If we stop burning gasoline and all of the other things causing this the extinctions may not include the bivalve mollusk, or even the human species.

  8. no

  9. The bigger threat to our existence is taxes, bans, and mandates in the name of "climate change".

  10. Global warming is only partly to blame, only part of the equation  that threatens us

If some thing really bad happens it will be because of people

Like an all out nuclear war ,or if we continue to abuse Nature and the Environment in General

    http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence/glo...

Global warming is but a component, in a group of destructive forces at work such as ;deforestation, desertification, soil and water contamination ,irresponsible or wasteful utilization of bio resources , air pollution,Non sustainable Agriculture, over pumping carbon aquifers

all concepts which are definitely not part of the Natural Processes of the Natural world

    WHICH WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR,

The most prolific growth on this planet is part of the day in the mist and most of the time under clouds ,and the least growth is always directly in the sun .

To exchange the one for the other means changing local climates

We are exchanging Nature with Tar , concrete and open spaced mono cultures.

In 300 years half of the planets forests have gone ,and in the last 50 years half of the wet lands ,and rain forests

These Areas absorb heat during the day and release heat at night ,

Cause cloud formation(shade).humidifying the air on the surface as well as releasing excess water at the roots that keep rivers flowing ,which in turn brings more water into the Environment .

As well as contributing to absorbing carbon emissions as do the leaves of the trees together with the oceans .

All in all many factors which directly affect the local Environment .

The loss of the above resulting in rivers drying up ,less rain ,desertification, loss of habitat for many species and so on.

dryer and hotter surface environments which can manifest in different weather patterns such as tornadoes or bush fires

I may be stupid or Naive but somehow i believe that lots of these local environmental changes, can add up to affect global weather, If there are enough of them (and there are)

And then on top of that comes the story of the effects of pollutants released into Nature and especially the Air ,by MAN http://earthissues.multiply.com/photos/a...

A cocktail of events and a lot of the ingredients have MAN written all over them

So it is safe to assume that we should look at ourselves ,just a teeny bit ,for possible improvements ,and rectifying Eco errors that are with in our powers.

    What is a safer bet

to be or not to be

  11. yes! you should be prepared... earth is getting warmer

  12. No! And future generations are not going to die due to our climate having a little heat flash either.

Why don't you think about it realistically if you weren't being pounded on the head about this on a daily basis would you even realize anyting was happening with the planets climate? No you wouldn't and don't try to lie that you would, because you are only lieing to yourself.

Bottom line is we are getting good things from all this hype, but we are getting some bad things as well, like increased taxes that even when this is proven to be false governments won't stop.

Did you know that the Minnesota lottery revenue is supposed to go to things to improve our environment? There are other approaches to doing the right things to keep our land and air healthy than taxing us. Oh and I don't trust the government as far as I can throw them to use tax revenue for what it's intended for.

  13. Eventually, when our sun becomes a super nova the heat will insinerate the earth. But that's a long way off.
