  1. Nope. we had .6% growth last quarter. :D

  2. Nope.  This is mostly Democratic Party propaganda.to think it is worst than it is.

  3. Well...not yet..I mean

Our country's economy isn't exactly at its high point. The prices of EVERYTHING are going up, people can't pay off their mortgages, then get a foreclosure, the stock market isn't exactly doing too well, and we're in a war...

    We are in tough times...

But if we do have a depression...it won't be like the great depression..it would be a little different..and our country has a chance of recovering pretty quickly depending on how we would handle it..

  4. I think society is to smart to let it get that far into a deppression as before, however some countries are already feeling the recession...

  5. TERRIFIC QUESTION.

I personally believe we are definately headed toward the 2nd depression.  However, NO one out there in all the public editorials, politicians, newscasters or wall street would ever even think to mention this to us, the general public.  What an intelligent person you are to ask such a question. May this be heard in Congress and something be done before no one can afford anything and no one has anything. Patti

  6. only if the idiot communist, obama gets elected

  7. we're on our way if McBush gets in office.

  8. No, you have to be in a recession before a depression.

A recession is defined as two consecutive quarters of negative GDP.  We haven't had that yet.

  9. Prediction: the worst economic depression in U.S. history will strike in October, 2009.  -RKO-  06/07/08

  10. Probably getting there. The economy is going down, things are getting more and more expensive and stuff. And in some parts of the world, many poeple are starving to death becasue they can't afford food at all.

I think those who are denying that things are going downhill should think again. This economy slowdown will effect everyone in the world. And if we do go into another depression, how would we get out of it? That's also something to think about in my opinion.

  11. No, but they are working on it.

  12. Great question. It is very tough to say definitively whether or not we are in a recession/depression. As other posters have rightly pointed out, in order to be in a depression, a nation must first be in a recession. And whether or not we are in a recession is still up for debate. But I will tell you this- one of the most trademark signs of being in a/heading towards a depression is the elimination of the middle class. When only the obscenely rich and the obscenely poor exist, that is a depression. And with the price of living skyrocketing, the middle class will disappear, thus I think it will trigger a depression.
