Question:

Do you think what you eat has anything to do with acne?

I've always wondered if food has anything to do with breakouts, even though studies say it doesn't. I notice that almost always after I eat greasy foods like pizza or fries I break out. Do you have any similar stories? Also, do you yourself think food is related to acne?

  3. if u eat acne u get acne

  4. for a fact it really doesnt matter what you eat.

  5. The only thing i've heard about is that chocolate causes acne but i'm not sure if it's true i think it makes sense

  6. its a proven fact that it does, i dont know what these people are talking about. i fond that drinkin alot of orange juice and greassy foods always cause me to get breakouts. as soon as i stayed away from there, my acne started to clear up.

  7. No, I don't think what you eat has much to do with acne. There is some research that suggests the hormones found in dairy products and a western diet in general may be a factor, but there are many others.  Hormones, heredity, greasy cosmetics, stress, humid polluted climates, irritation to the skin, chafing, and squeezing pimples all can contribute to acne.  Here are a few informative links.

  8. i dont think that. but i think mayb after u handle the greasy food u sumhow get it on ur face?? make sure 2 wash ur hands rite after u eat greasy foods!!!

  9. It definately does!!

  10. Of course, what studies have you been reading? Greasy foods get on your fingers and your fingers touch your face, often clogging pores. I eat healthy and have never had a breakout.

  11. examine foods high in iodine. Watch out for multi-vitamins (some contain iodine). Be aware of some junk foods such as potato chips, corn chips, etc. Keep your diet low in fat and sugar. Eating a properly balanced diet ensures that your body gets the proper nutrients and therefore promotes healthy skin. 12. Chocolate affects my acne. Now I'm not saying I have to go cold turkey on it. I just have to only eat a little bit.

As for you maybe greasy food makes you break out. It's different for every person.

  13. Most studies indicate that food has nothing to do wit acne!  for ex. eating chocolate, french fries, ect.... but for some people like u do breakout.... i personally break out when i eat chocolate, but it all depends on the skin and reactions on that person.  2 b safe is  2 totally avoid greasy fooooods.  if u want less acne try drinking lotz of water, it wont clear ur whole face, but it will help lots....   :)

    Hope i helped  :)

  14. yes it is, especially chocolate.

  15. There are many acne experts who say that food doesn't cause acne, and there are a few that disagree and say that food does cause acne. Actual studies on whether food causes acne are few and far between. But most acne sufferers who have cleared their skin, have done so by changing their diet

  16. I do! Too much greasy foods can cause mad acne. Oily skin can cause mad acne. Poor and improper cleansing can cause mad acne. My sister had it until she stopped putting so much oil in her hair, I on the other hand did not suffer it and still don't , everything in moderation.

  17. it doesnt have anything to do with eatiing da food it u touch ur face n u still have a little greas in ur hand u r going to get acne ...hope it helps

  18. Your body uses the building materials you give it, go figure.

Diet is not the cause, it's dead skin blocking hair follicles.

Acne results in bacterial infection, they in turn love sugar & fat.

  19. Sometimes it does. Sometimes it doesn't. It really depends on what you are eating.

  20. studies say it does food has alot to do with acne eat healthy and for the average person you will have clear skin

  21. Yes and no. If you eat a poor diet (junk food all the time) your skin will be bad. If you eat a well balanced diet then your skin will be well balanced as well. Also break outs aren't only caused by food, they are caused by stress (you may be stressing over food), the environment, hormones, not getting enough sleep, not getting enough water or nutrients etc etc. Well you probably get my point...the thing is acne isn't caused by eating pizza or fries every now and then.

  22. Your skin is your largest organ. The health of your organs is directly linked to the health of your stomach and what you put in it. Don't touch your face (use the back of you hand if you have to itch), drink a ton of water, and don't eat processed food.

Exfoliate with a washcloth, mask or beaded scrub (always round beads, the other stuff leaves microscopic tears in your skin), wash twice a day, tone, moisturize and use sunscreen in the morning. Use natural products. Get facials at least once a year.

Unless you know who paid for the studies you're reading or how they were conducted, don't put a lot of stock into them. Just use common sense.

  23. Well people who tend to eat alot of junk food and oily stuff seems to produce more acne.

  24. I believe in science, but I noticed some kind of link between high fat dairy and breakouts.  Maybe it was more the staying up late and eating pizza, rather than just the pizza.  Who knows?

  25. Greesy foods, and Chocolate.

  26. It doesn't with me.

WILL YOU HELP ME WITH MINE? :)

  28. Greasy food can cause breakouts.

For the most part it all depends on your skin type, try drinking 8 glasses of water a day that may help you.

  29. i saw a dermatologist and was told lay off dark pop, chocolate, and fried food's. and use a moisturizer and it worked. it also worked for my teens.

  30. yes. greasy foods will hurt your face and for me, chocolate was really the killler. If you stick with natural foods you will be OK.

  31. yes of course...try fasting for a couple days and dring only water and 100 % pure grape juice (welches). Then eat fruits for a few days....Try to cut out pork and fried foods for a few weeks and see how it clears up...Chicken, leaen meat, and fish should do the trick.
