  1. Will it be advocated? Definitely, judging by some of the other lunatic ideas that have been suggested (a million spaceships launched into space to block the sun's rays...). Will it be tried? Hope not. Will it be a good idea? Well, the idea of a 'controlled' nuclear winter doesn't sound very likely. Perhaps technology will find a solution to global warming, but only working hand in hand with simple, everyday solutions, starting now!

  2. nuke the baby seals! I LIKE IT let me know in advance so I can strap a case of beer to my scooter & ride up to Alaska & watch all the glow in the dark polar bears running around under the mushroom clouds when you do it. FAR OUT!

  3. Theoretically the nuclear weapons are in the hands of sane rational adults who would never do such a whacko thing.

  4. become severe enough????

They are quite severe right now!!

  5. Interesting...but I'd prefer warming to winter. Had enough winter it's -40 wind chill in Wisconsin is getting sickening!

  6. i think not.  the antarctic circumpolar currents are wind driven and any nuclear explosion large enough to create nuclear winter would have serious fallout.  radiation would be carried by the winds to neighboring continents.  very risky indeed...
