....uncovered by archaeologists from earth's next intelligent species?

Just think what a find that would be. Right there in our layer there would be a bunch of humans and cattle fossils followed by a mass extinction. Do you think they'll make the connection that it's us that caused the mass extinction? Do you think they'll discover how much we actually learned about our world? What, if any, of our artifacts will survive to be discovered?

  1. why, it would take millions of years for new species to develop so  they would probably see us as a backward species kind of how we saw cromagnon or wtv

  2. Before I got to your last sentence I was going to mention that our artifacts would be much easier to find than our bodies.  What they find will depend on how long into the future you're talking about.  If they evolve like we did, they will discover artifacts and ruins as they go -- things like dams, for example.  But eventually, when they develop space travel, they will find our satellites.  We have lots of them in geosynchronous orbit and they will be there probably for millions of years.  Their orbits won't deteriorate like some other satellites because they ar 22,300 miles up.

Maybe ten million years from now they'll go to the moon and find one of our landing sites.  The pyramids on earth will be gone but those famous footprints on the moon will probably still be there.

  3. YEA, the smart future would think why these people polluted a lot, killed animals and destroyed the environment.... WOOHOO! what a find...

  4. interesting question. i think that they will know how much knowledge we have of our world. humans document everything surely there will be some documents left. we will leave tons of artifacts.
