Do you think women are forced to shave?

Would you still shave if the social pressure wasn't there to stay shaved?

Personally I like being smooth and clean. So I would shave even if everyone else stopped.

I would also like to see a few more men besides just the swimmers and cyclist shave. I personally hate the feeling of hair, and I think its kinda of dirty. So men please start shaving more.

Women what are you thoughts on shaving for either s*x and why?

  1. Nobody is forcing poor little women to nothing. Stop playing the victim card.

  2. I stopped shaving when I worked outdoors since it was a hassle and I wore quick dry shorts and t's when I got in the water-so not much of me was showing. But I've never cared a lot about what was socially acceptable-if people wanted to point and stare-I'm fine with being entertainment for morons.

I shave now since I feel like it--still wear quick dry shorts or surf shorts for swimming since women's swim suits are absolutely useless for sea kayaking/sailing/canoeing or windsurfing/surfing.

  3. Female- I don't like the feeling of hair/stubble and so I just shave my legs and underarms. I think if woman stopped shaving I still would because I just don't like the feeling.

Male- I think it would be strange to see a hairless man. Personally though, I don't like seeing stubble on my bf's face. It makes kissing so icky...so I just want him to shave there.  If he is ULTRA hairy on his back/chest it would be good if he would take that off too because it just looks bad.

  4. Everything women do they were "forced" into...  Right, all this -social pressure- damnit. Arhhhhh!! These little women can't handle all this d**n -social pressure-.

  5. If women stop shaving, I'm never having s*x again.

  6. Women shave because it is more attractive looking and feeling. And sorry, but as a guy, I'm not shaving anything but my face. Other than that, just some trimming.

  7. Never underestimate the power of peer pressure!

  8. Yeah, men don't want to have s*x with women who don't shave. That's why the human race died out before razors were invented. Or else... maybe it's just a self-perpetuating cycle. Someone starts shaving, then businesses spring up with advertisements telling women they are ugly if they don't shave their underarms/legs/upper lip/bikini area/pubes, and that way, the business sells more of their product. Then everyone only sees women who are shaven, and it seems that THAT is the natural way, and having hair in those areas seems freakish, ugly, and wrong, meaning that women will continue to shave, etc., etc.

  9. I love hairlessness...lol

the only hair I like is hair on top of heads and MAYBE facial hair on SOME men.

some can pull it off and look so freaking s**y. YUM. otheres...eh not so much.

I think it is great that women shave. Like we would be really unattractive if we didnt. Atleast I think so. We were meant to show off our beautiful legs..so hair legs would = EW!

  10. I guess I'm the odd ball here but I would be so much happier without the pressure to shave.  Maybe if it was a choice instead of mandatory I'd be more willing to do it on a more regular basis.

  11. I don't know about forced but I think we've been culturally and socially taught that it's unattractive for a woman to have body hair.  I, too, would continue shaving even if all other women stopped.  I would not feel comfortable with hairy legs and pits.  I have to disagree with you on men shaving their bodies.  I find men with hairy chests and bellies to be very s**y (the only thing I don't like is excessive back hair).  I'm grossed out by men who shave their bodies.  They may as well get breast implants and start taking female hormones.

  12. If no body told you your hair was gross in junior high, would you pick that raisor up and shave? If no body tells you there is something wrong with you, then there is no need to change right?

  13. Schmeeez has a good point.  Would guys bother having s*x with an ultra hairy women?  Would the mood be killed seeing all the armpit hair bulging out?

  14. I shave because my husband likes it, if he didn't then I probably wouldn't bother.  I think a man who shaves anything except his face is a bit of a girly.  why on earth is hair dirty?  If it's dirty on the body, then why not on the head?  do you recommend that everyone shave their heads?

    Louise

  15. To me it gets itchy.  I suppose if we never shaved we would not know the difference, but I agree with you, I like the smooth feeling.

  16. Perhaps women should start shaving their heads. That hair is dirtier than the hair on any other part of the body. Not only does it get greasy but it also gets dandruff and can attract lice.

  17. if you dont want to shave, dont shave.

    no ones being forced.

    everyone like that... feeling.

  18. If nobody else shaved, I wouldn't either. I didn't know that shaving was the norm for females until way after all my classmates started shaving - my mother never told me, and I had to find out the embarrassing way. I only do it because I'd rather not get weird stares when I'm walking around in shorts, although being 75% Italian is also a good reason... people with light, blond hair could definitely get away with not shaving a lot more easily than I could.

  19. No one's holding a gun to my head. *Forced*? That's ridiculous. I shave bcs i like the look and feeling of smooth shins. . Not to conform to society's warped example of "beauty". That's all.

However, there is social pressure on a certain standard of beauty, for both sexes, although women get more affected by it (what with the rising numbers of breast enhancements and whatnot).

Some men, and women, consider a girl who doesn't shave to be a "slob" or gross.

And about shaving for either s*x. I don't care, although IMO, a guy might want to trim his beard before it reaches his toes.

  20. i'm going commando for the summer

  21. Well, I think in a way we are "forced" to shave. We had to be influenced in a way men weren't, or they would be shaving just as much as we are. I feel that I need to shave just to feel attractive. Obviously if alot of other people find shaving attractive it's automatically going to make me shave, just so I won't feel out of place. Like the one poster said, if women stopped shaving, I probably would too.

  22. They are just so weak that they have to give in to peer pressure and the society's ignorance.

  23. If I didn't have to shave, I wouldn't. I'm Ethiopian & naturally hairy but I don't really care, I only shave for what society deems "aesthetically" pleasing, so if I didn't have to then h**l no I wouldn't shave.

  24. Feels smooth and nice. I like a guy who grooms himself. Maybe not all the way, though. But I completely agree with you. It's cleaner.
