  1. Most definitely, I am my harshest critic. I know that I am a perfectionist and I often become frustrated and upset if I don't attain the goals I set for myself to a level of perfection.

I realize now that it was mostly because of my upbringing. Particularly, my father, who was always pushing my brother and I to do better without the praise for when we did something nearly perfect (in his opinion). When I did something right, dad would rarely acknowledge it so I would try even harder to do as many things as perfectly as I could, as often as I could in an attempt to get his approval.

These many years later, I am much less hard on myself than I used to be, but it is definitely a process of learning to let go and be happy with the results of my goals. It makes life much easier and more satisfying. :)

  3. Yes I am my harshest critic.  I always have been.

  4. Yes... but I am most sensitive to other's criticisms.

  5. Most people are their own worst critic. I know I am. I'm a perfectionist like some and tend to be very hard on myself.   Whenever we feel passionate or serious about something, we want to do our best.  It can be anything from school work to a song on the piano we are trying to master.  Even though others have expectations from us, we also feel that about ourselves and our own abilities. We tend to analyze what we've done and if the end result isn't what we hoped for, it can sometimes set us back.  I think it can be both a blessing and a curse. If we were never critical of ourselves, we might not be motivated to do better or achieve some of the goals we want in life. Nobody handles criticism very well, it's something you accept as a learning tool through life and eventually can discern what's helpful or harmful.

  6. Oh yes. It took me a while to figure oyt that I had ADD & wasn't just stupid.

I'm good now but I still get really upset if I make a mistake at work

  7. Yes. Because I tend to compare myself to others.

& I'm the only one who knows ALL my flaws.
