Absolutely not. They also cannot be trusted to tell me what's important, or the truth. They are self-serving and arrogant and should be serving us. The waste and corruption makes me sick. Will someone please tell me why nannies get elected by decent hard working people?

Okay if your talking about my money of course me.  However if your talking about the countries tax dollars it shouldn't be up to a single individual to decide how the money is spent due to the fact that the person in charge of it would have there own priorities that may not be considered a priority to the public.  It's something that needs to be decided by a larger group.  Obviously the people aren't going to get together and vote on every single little thing which is why we have representatives.  In the long run they try to vote in a manner that will get them the most votes in the next election (by trying to go with what the majority of the people want) this is the point of having a government in the first place.  If there is a person here that says they should be the one in charge of everything they need to think how they would feel if there worst enemy was the one in charge of how all the tax dollars were spent.

So long story short as far as tax dollars go the government.

If not for consfiscation of my income and Social Security taxes, I would be a multi-millionaire many times over at retirement.

I create wealth, the government creates nothing and consumes vast amounts of our cash, with little positive result and levels of waste like none we have ever seen in history.

The answer is beyond clear.

The government is not at all qualified to educate you on how you should spend your money. Logically, the government does not know you, your wants, your needs and that sort of thing, so they don't have enough information to make a truly cogent decision.

It's your money. You spend it as you need to spend it.

No. Most government have budget deficit which mean they are no better when come to spend their money.

h**l NO!!!!! What makes anyone think the government can do a better job running your life better than you can? When was the last time you had any interaction with a government agency and left with a warm a fuzzy feeling? I fairly certain it has been never.
