Question:

Do you think your spirit could have a mind?

Like when you astral travel ...your spirit leaves your body (including your brain) and you can still think. Or...for example spirits/ghosts who seem to be able to think and sometimes even talk (although not with vocal cords). I wonder if you really need a physical brain to think. What are your thoughts on this. (Assuming you believe about ghosts / spirits and astral travel. No sense in answering if you don't.)

  1. Hello

The physical brain's function is not to aid spirit as much as to aid the functions of the body.

Our consciousness has a far greater capacity for wisdom & knowledge that our brains do. Remove the spirit from the body & you have nothing, remove the brain from the spirit & you have more than you can perceive.

  2. We are energy and only our emotions will travel with us, not our thoughts.

  3. Yes I do. I have heard lots of things. I astral plained for a split second one time.

  4. Your question is especially interesting because it addresses the idea of one's spirit as a completely separate entity. This is a departure from other concepts of spirit. Quoting Pascual F. Martinez-Freire "To sum up, a human mental process is spiritual if it exhibits properties that exceed the physical determination of stimuli and patterns of behaviour or the concretion of the time." In other words, spirit is often considered a special ability to function in special ways that require an advanced consciousness. Could that lead to paranormal conditions? Since a common definition of paranormal is "not scientifically explainable", I think certain triumphs of the human spirit have defied scientific explanation and could be considered paranormal. Many of the people who exhibit special abilities attribute it to something spiritual. Those people include everyone from athletes to US Presidents; all claiming something spiritual is helping/driving them.

But I worry about extreme overdevelopment or overuse of the spirit. Ultimately, I think balance is the key. One of the main tenants of yoga is development of mind, spirit and body in harmony. With or without yoga, a balanced life is the best life.

  5. I think our soul has it's own intelligence. Our higher self is very intelligent...so yes, in a way it has a mind. But on the spiritual realm, there is supposed to be an inner knowing, so maybe that intelligence doesn't exist in one particular part of the spirit, it just flows in it. True consciousness.

Hmmm...good question, makes you think. :)

  6. Yes your spirit does have a mind.

  7. Well, there were a several spirits in my room last night that kept me up all night that tell me yes, they can. ;) Seriously, from my experiences, things like thought and memory and the ability to communicate and show/express emotion go far beyond the physical body. I've had conversations with them and I hear them in my head as well as outside of it, with my physical ears.

EDIT: Yeah, that happens to me a lot. That's a really good sign they're trying to say, "hey, you really ARE hearing this".

  8. A GOOD question all i can think of  at the moment is the ressurection of  jesus   perhaps that can answer your question for surely he was well aware of his  situation when he arose  from the dead .

however is the resurrection the same as astral travel or the   spirit world ....i really cant see the difference .

when timothy leary was asked if he believed in life after death he started answering by saying he has written over 20 books through out his academic career .he seemed to avoid the answer the interviewer was trying to get out of him .

  9. I think that the spirits that can community are just made up of a higher level of energy than those who don't. I think they are independent of human bodies and not "spirits" per say. idk weird theory.

  10. ok as a telekinetic

    i will answer this

    when you astral travel

    your body sleeps

and your soul travels were every you feel like going

you are your soul and spirit

but if you are hurt or killed while in your astral body

    you can not go back

  11. I do think that your spirit or soul sits in your head and actually is part of your mind.

  12. Absolutely the spirit has a mind.  The spirit retains memories of all it's past lives too.  The only difference between the spirit mind and the physical mind is that the spirit mind is much more aware of everything.  There are no earthly emotions to drag it down.  It looses it's human aspects, in that it has no physical body, but the consciousness survives.

  13. Yes. Your own.
