Question:

Do you think your thoughts are the source of everything that appears or happens in your life?

Or is the subconscious/soul element (or the emotive source) more important in adding fuel to the mental (thought) energy that brings about the manifestation?

Are you the director of your own life's play? Do you instruct when and how each actor appears on your life's stage, or are you simply directing someone else's play?

What exactly are you as a human being responsible for?

  1. Absolutely!

I believe that we create our lives through the thought processes that we have and the way that we act out our thoughts.  Each thought, be it positive, negative or indifferent has it's own vibration, it's own frequency and depending on that vibration will depend on what is manifested into your life and the speed at which it arrives into your life.

As human beings we are responsible for our own life, our destiny.  It is entirely up to us how we wish this to proceed.

  2. You are responsible for the things you can make a difference to.  To take a trivial example, you are responsible for driving safely, but if someone has a blowout and jumps the central reservation of a highway and collides with you, that has nothing to do with your thoughts or responsibilities.

  3. Yes, yes, and yes and no.

You are a director, but so is everyone else.  Chaos rules, but higher beings have already done all the calculations and have seen the future with all its complexity.

  4. Life would be so boring if I were directing all of the actions of everyone and everything around me!  It is a process of discovery (and you may say self-discovery) that keeps life interesting and vibrant.

We are responsible for our own happiness and for how we define success in our own lives, but that does not mean that we need to control the world around us to achieve our goals.  It is the joy of discovery and the mystery the unknown that keeps me going.  Is that coming from my subconcious desires?  Probably, and though I am intent upon maintaining a *very thin* barrier between my conscious and subconscious thoughts, I do want *some* barrier to be there.  What a great question, though it would probably be more suited to the philosophy category.  Thanks!

  5. Yea, I'm sure the victims of 9/11 (for example) just thought themselves to death....

A vast amount of what happens in our lives is nothing more than random chaos...our thoughts only effect OUR choices, not the choices of others.

  6. I believe some events are going to happen whether you're there to observe them or not.  However, you as an individual definitely have an impact on the outcome of other events in which you are an active participant.

The events you experience in your life contribute to what you are and, by learning from these experiences, what you will become.

I do not believe there is any reason to think a personal thought can manifest anything independent of the person who thinks it.

I try to keep my personal philosophy simple.  I believe in the Golden Rule and the Campfire Rule--do unto others as you would have them do unto you and try to leave the place you occupy in better shape than how you found it.

  7. If this was true there would be no disease or poverty.  You have to act to make life better, not just think.  Thought without action is wasted.

  8. the way of thing is the only reason so when you have the grip on it you will go on safe with out any danger

  9. Whoa, my head is spinning...somebody over at hubpages would probably write you an entire essay about everything you've asked. My thoughts being the source of everything that happens in my life...Not entirely is my opinion. I think that we agree to specific conditions and goals, before each new life, and the Universe will sometimes pointedly direct our path towards one of these. How many stories have we seen where a sudden tragedy or illness has totally changed the direction of a person's life? Or somebody getting fired from a job of several years and then discovering a talent, interest or ability that they use to essentially begin a new life? And they succeed. Certainly, the aspect of karma is a variable, as well, that can't be ignored.

Intuition is both a psychic ability and a trait shared by everybody on the planet, with varying degrees of ability. As a soul in a new body, it retains all memory of its purpose for that lifetime and can have a profound impact on the quality of one's life...unfortuantely, the vehicle and personality it has adopted is not made aware of its true purpose. This is why people have often been known to say they need some time away to "find" themselves. What is interesting is that it is never a random occurrence, and although the action is theirs, the motivation comes from elsewhere, soul being one place.

When it comes to having my needs supplied, I have considerable control over that with my thoughts. But as for learning essential lessons that allow me to progress on my path, I have little or no control...no control largely because people are our main source of learning or gaining new information. How or when they cross our path may well appear to be random or chance and we have no control of when that happens or who it will be. There is one exception, in my experience...if I am being introduced to a new idea or skill and need help, I make a quick request to my guides to send along the right people and resources to help me understand this new knowledge. My answer would not be complete without acknowledging how much work they do, behind the scenes. If you have those days that everything just seemed to "click", you can be certain that your guides have been at work.

I am not the director of my own play nor do I have any control over other people's actions in general. I do believe, though, that we are all connected energetically and can attract other people without thinking, those who sense our energy vibration.

I was once told that we are all here, in this life, with the express purpose of dicovering our spiritual truth and sharing it. This has never been more evident in history than in the last 40 years or so. The quickly mounting interest in pursuing other spiritual paths - paths that are not based on doctrine or religion - is a worldwide phenomenon. For one reason or another, historical sources are no longer current with the knowledge and experience required to fulfill that spriritual need and people look elsewhere.

In the end, I do believe that we are here with a spiritual message and that we all have a specific goal to attain while walking through life... and no two people share exactly the same.

So am I saying that an axe murderer who kills an entire family in cold blood has a spiritual message and a purpose? Absolutely...it may be payment for karma from past lives or as the instrument of change in somebody's life. Contacts are made as a result of violence and these would never have arrived without the stimulus of the actual act. We don't choose our lessons,  but it's essential that we learn them if we hope to have a fulfilling life with a reasonable amount of contentment.

What am I responsible for, as a human being? Using my talents wisely, treating others with courtesy, following the guidance that my spirit helpers send my way and helping others to achieve their potential. Once too often, I haven't put much effort into the last item - or neglected it completely - and there were some major missed opportunities.

My overall control of situations or people, however,  is absolutely nil.

  10. Thoughts are extremely powerful and guide how you respond to other people, react to situations, what opportunities you take advantage of and which ones you let slide by.

For example; I knew of a lady who desperately wanted to be in a relationship. She was extremely jealous of her friends who had boyfriends. The key to her unhappiness was a belief that there wasn't enough "good guys" to go around and therefore any single guys in her age group (late 20s) must have something seriously wrong with them.

Then one night while out with the girls, a good looking man approached her and said that he thought she was the prettiest girl in the place and asked if she would like to dance with him? Sounds like exactly what she would want right? but because of her belief system, instead of saying sure and going to dance, she blasted him for making fun of her and insulted him for even approaching her. Needless to say they didn't start dating and she continues to bemoan her singleness.

I think we all behave according to our life traps. But the more conscious we are of them - the more likely we can work through them and take greater charge of our destiny.

  11. You affect your life by the decisions and physical actions you take.We are responsible for leading as good a life as we can.The Universe goes on independent of your thoughts. It is indifferent to our hopes and dreams. In my opinion,of course.

  12. No, but my responses are cued from within, making 'right-thinking' vital. I've said that there's 1000 ways to do life wrong, and only one right way. Holy Scripture keeps me on the right track, not to mention a good dose of psychological training as a youth. Since the human mind is the most complicated 'machine' in existence, it behooves us from an early age to understand its workings. I've made psychology a hobby since I was 10. For years I took a practical, 'scientific' view of nature until too many inexplicable things occurred that told me there's a lot more going on in this universe than science can measure. I'm looking forward to Heaven for more answers! Until then, I guess I should take a humble 'Lord's will be done' attitude.

What are we responsible for? To honor the life we are given with correct behavior and learning; respect God and serve good.
