  1. Yes, I do tip the delivery person.  I just budget enough each month to cover the cost of two pizza pies plus the tip.  I usually give $3 or $4 tip, since it's usually dark outside and I don't like to drive after it gets dark outside.

  2. most do. some dont.

they are paid by the restaurant.

  3. If you can't afford an extra $2 to tip....you need to go pick up.

delivery drivers are like waiters/waitresses. Because our wonderful gov't knows they receive tips, the made it a law that the companies the work for only have to pay them around $2.15/hr or so.  So their tips make up for what they are not getting from normal pay. With the price of gas these day, you should at least be tipping around $3-4.  If you can't tip, don't ask for delivery.

  4. Always, always tip!

  5. Um u cant spare just $2.00,then maybe u shouldnt b odering anything.....

  6. Yes you tip him he drove all the way over to the d**n house and your not going to tip him for his hard work I don't mean to be obnoxious but don't be a cheapskate think about it sometime!!!!

  7. Delivery drivers invest their own time, thier own vehicle, and their own fuel to bring you your food, if you do not pay them, you are essentialy reaching yoru hand in their pocket and throwing their money/assets in the garbage.

Delivery drivers do not get the delivery charge if there is one

They may get payed for their time a very small amoutn similer to waitors, but they do not get payed back for their car/fuel that is what you are supposed to do!

delivery is not a god given right, you want food, so you pay for it, if you want delivery you have to pay for that too, its not a package deal.

Its also totally bs that you cant "afford" 2 dollars, you know it, i know it, the world knows it.  whiel were mentioning it, id also liek to point out that 2 dollars is barely enough money to operate a car for 4 miles and offere s avery slim chance of the driver actually seeing any of that money, still even if you gave him 2 bucks, your probibly be stiffing him.

In my experience i would guestimate that 1:1500 deliverys pay exactly to the penny, that what kind of person you are, and of them all but one did so because the food was late, which is not even the drivers fault, drivers have to wait untill the kitchen makes your order before they can get it to you, if you order on a busy night liek friday or saturday, and your food isnt made for 1.5-2 hours, it will take the driver 1.5-20 hours before he can leave to gotot your house.  If you do so just because your cheap, your a whole new level of scum, working oposite the direction of societies grown and developement.

I hope you dont order form the same driver, its just a matter of time before he gets pissed and acts upon you for taking money from him, hes working to make money, and everytime you come along, your slowing down his progress and making him do extra work to break even for the loss you just caused him/her

Drivers invest .45 cents of their own assets evry mile they are driving to and from your house, they also lose more money since while they are wastign time on you, they could have been doing another delivery where normal peopel woudl have been paying them.  It probibly cost the driver 4-5 bucks every time you stiff him, your ****** up, and i have no respect for you.

If this is seriously your opinion, i hope natural darwinism takes its coarse on your soul because you need to be weeded out of society.

to answer your question though, as i said ealrier, with a bit of detail, ALMOST NOBODY DOES THIS

  8. Not tip? One time i only ordered one medium pizza from Pizza Hut and felt bad about asking for change.... in the end i realized i gave him a 13 dollar tip.... shrug! lol

  9. h**l yeah everyone, represent.

I was a delivery driver for two years at Pizza Hut and let me tell you, if you didn't tip and always ordered, you will always have problems with your order . . lateness, incorrect, or messed with.

Though (at least at Pizza Hut) they charge you a delivery charge, mere pennies of that actually go to the driver. We have to use our own cars (so factor in the wear and tear on them), fill up a couple times a night (imagine doing that now and someone not tipping), and be on our guard. Every driver at my store had been robbed at least twice, either by a gun or knife.

So if you're not willing to shell out a proper tip, get off the couch and get it yourself. And if you can't afford at least a $5 tip, you don't need to be ordering out, you need to be conserving your money.

  10. If you can afford to buy the pizza or whatever you're having delivered, you can afford to tip the driver. Otherwise go pick it up yourself and see how much time and gas it costs you. Then see how much that is worth to you. Honestly...everyone should tip at least 5 dollars. Look how expensive gas is.

  11. no most ppl tip.  its very rude not to.

  12. Sorry for the snot rockets in the food, or was that slime.....  ewwwwwww..... I hope it wasn't what I think what that was.

    How do you ever

    get ahead in life

    if you spend your

    last dime on

    delivery?

    If you take care of

    the people who

    take care of you

    it will come back

    two fold.

  13. If you can't afford the extra $2 you should go drive and pick up your food yourself. Just because they're paid by the company doesn't mean they don't expect you to tip them. They're not paid well to begin with and they need something to cover the strain they're putting on their cars.

  14. If you can't be bothered to tip then you should go get it yourself!!!  Tipping is a part of delivery service & should be automatically considered a part of the cost.  Pizza delivery is considered a hazardous job by the US government. They are third most likely to be murdered on the job, right after police officer and taxi driver.

Your friendly delivery person uses his/her own vehicle & GOLD (gas) to bring your food to you!!  If you do the math delivery saves you several dollars AND precious time; you should show your appreciation by giving AT LEAST $3.00 or more.  If your vehicle gets 20mpg & the pizza place is 10 miles away then your tip should be four dollars, because that's what you'd burn in gas to go get it.  Factor in your driving time,  getting off your couch, getting dressed & finding your keys & you've saved about 45 minutes.  Surely that's worth a few dollars.  Plus, if it's a big order (say, more than 2 pizzas) then you should tip more because it'll be extra bags/work.

Oh, and don't forget, delivery drivers WILL remember you.  If you are known to not tip then your order will get delayed over the ones who WILL tip.  And that's just the beginning; don't look too closely under the cheese ;)

  15. No, these people make minimal wage usually and with the price of gas, it hurts them.  If you can afford the food, you can afford to tip.  Or you can spend your owwn gas money and pick it up.

  16. you cheapskate...if you can't tip a lousy two bucks, pick it up yourself. if you have made it a habit not to tip...i can only imagine what they are doing to your food....i'm assuming it's food you have delivered.
