They set the rate and so I was wondering if you tip and where is a good place to leave it (on the nightstand)?

  1. Bed and Breakfast Tipping Etiquette

In general, tipping etiquette dictates that business owners are not given tips. Most B&Bs fall under that category, and indeed, most have "no tipping" policies in place. If you are in doubt, ask about their tipping policy when you book your room. (If the housekeeping staff is not part of the family, do tip them as you would in a hotel.) (hotelsabout.com)

  2. No.  Tips are for the service people who usually get minimum (if that) wage.  Bad service=0, average service=10-15%, good service=15%, exceptional service=20%, outrageous service is your call.

  3. I always hand my tips to the person who gets them. I dont trust house keepers or maids cleaning the room and taking it.

  4. I think it is a kind gesture to leave a tip in the room.  The nightstand seems like a good place to me.
