  1. No, he probably makes more in an evening than you do and probably doesn't pay any taxes like you do.

  2. England or not, that's how they make their money.

  3. YES!!!

This money sometimes is all you live off of!! I have this kind of job right now, and I save all my money and only spend my tips. They make a big difference.

Think about it this way: It costs gas money to get to you, so your paying them back for gas.

  4. No but when it comes to like say £14, id give them £15 and let them keep it lol

  5. I always tip the takeaway guy! Usually I just ask him to keep the change. I was a takeaway guy myself once. And to the person above - some of us, quite grudgingly, had to pay taxes :P

  6. I always tip 5.00; and they do NOT make minimum wage, they make around 3-4 dollars an hour and they use their car and their gas and the delivery fee goes right back to the restaurant, not to the driver, they live primarily on tips.

  7. i tell him to keep the change but nothing big. i mean, im skint, buying a take away suffices for me. if its the tesco man i offer him a snack from my delivery like an ice lolly or peach or something.

  8. im brittish(H) anywayyys nahhh you dont cause then when you order it gain they expect it  and sometimes they take forever to come:O

  9. well.. it depends. You can if he gets there on time and all. But nothing too big or anything... it's your choice. But I see nothing wrong with it.

  10. I tip $5 for any order;we do not use the 15-20% rule for take out that's

why it's so popular.Once I gave the guy a $20,expecting change but he

got all excited mistaking it for his tip/so he says best tip ever,ty so much,so of course I just said you're welcome. Now I have a fiver in cash

ready .Cash is best for these people.

but if you can afford more they need it(our pizza place is real close)

  11. It is polite to tip any services renderred although not maditory. If someone has given you service in a timily polite manner it is only customary to tip them. They are trying to make a living just anyone else!  I usually tip them 15% of my bill. They will reconize me or my name for next time and will want to give me their services.

  12. Yeah, doesn't everyone?

  13. YES!  You should always tip a few bucks to the pizza delivery guy.  I say $3-$4 dollars for a $15-$20 pizza is about right.

  14. £1-00.

  15. The fact they have low pay is the main reason to tip. It does pay off. Once I had pizza that was way too cold with apologies because of traffic tie ups and a load of orders all at once. I still tipped. I called and complained, more was delivered, I tipped again to help with fuel.

Next time, not only was I first on the list, for some reason it seemed to have more generous amounts of food on top.

  16. Sometimes but not always

    please answer my question

  17. Yes, I do. A small tip, 2 or three dollars. Its like, if what you ordered cost $17, and you hand him a 20, I don't ask for change.

  18. no he is paid well to do the job of delivering my food

  19. It is common courtesy to tip people in the US.  Delivery people have pretty bad wages and sometimes still have to pay for gas for the company cars.

In America, tips are pretty much bribes, just after the fact.  People expect to get a tip.  If they don't, it is considered rude.  Next time you order something, expect your pizza to come an hour late.  If you tip well, whoever you are tipping will make sure you are treated well in the future.

Europe is different though.  Depending on the country, service people are paid well enough that they don't expect a tip.  In Italy, if you try to tip a waiter (who is probably also a chef), they will just stare at you oddly.

  20. Yes I always do . It is only right to tip them as they get c**p wages and even if it is just a quid it is a help to them.

  21. I am from the Uk, and yes I would tip a delivery person... Just because it means that you appreciated the service, and it adds to there usual minimum wage.

Unless it was really late then absolutely yes.

If there was then something wrong with the food, you just don't use them again.

  22. england and the us and canada all share the same question boards

they dont go by country, they go by language.

i tip the guy like 4 dollars

and im in canada, so i think thats 2 of whatever u guys use

  23. I really beleive that would be included in his wages. So no I wouldn't.

  24. We tip - usually a dollar or two.

  25. I always tip, no matter what.  Who ever thinks that they don't have to pay taxes on their wages must not live in America, they are just like waitresses,  who also have to claim tips as wages.

  26. Yes, because they have to put up with so much c**p. Things that are not the delivery guys' fault:

    - if the order is wrong (guess what, they didn't cook it)

    - if there's no dip etc (they didn't put the order together, it was just handed to them to deliver)

    - if it's late (a lot of times the restaurant gives the driver too many orders because they're too cheap to hire another driver...it's not like the delivery guy is just cruising around for fun)

    - if they go to the wrong house or apartment (they're just reading what the person at the restaurant wrote on the slip)

    - if the price is higher than what the customer thought it was going to be

Yes, tips ARE how they make their money. It's how everyone in the service industry makes their money. Minimum wage is nothing.

  27. no i never do. maybe i should.. the place we order from are always here within 15 mins after you ordered so can't complain about waiting long.

  28. Yes I usually tip them $2

  29. yes, usually $2-$3

  30. in the US i do but when you do it in england they look at you funny so u could if wanted to.

  31. Standard Behaviour ...keep the "Loose Change" ...coins not CHANGE the notes.
