Munich is hot, make sure you travel and see the actual sights during the day, I can't tell you much about the nightlife except I've been there, it's a beautiful city, go to the Glockenspiel, Hofbrau Haus, Residenz Palace, and Oktoberfest in September. I definitely cannot help you with those other questions, because I was too drunk to remember most of it but Marienplatz is nice and good to go see Dachau, as well for a strong dose of history/reality. what a fantastic city!

If you go to Hofbrauhaus your first evening you are guaranteed to make lots of friends and get tons of great advice on where to go.
